My goal in AP Calculus for the fall semester of this school year was to pass the class with an A. Overall, I was
unsuccessful in reaching this goal because of weaknesses regarding my effort and growth mindset.. I struggled primarily
with quizzes because I hardly studied and did not understand it all. Additionally, I have sometimes made poor choices
during class time such as talking to friends and zoning out, and this has kept me from acing my tests. Although I struggled
with study skills this year, I have also been successful with organization and preparation. I have always come to school
with a charged laptop, and I have consistently kept my backpack and notebooks well-organized. Additionally, I have used
Google Classroom to keep up with my assignments. In most cases, these organizational habits have helped me to
succeed in major project and classwork assignments, and I believe that my math skills have improved. My S.M.A.R.T. goal
for the spring semester of this school year is pass the AP test in time of May 9th. I plan to study within the school and
outside of school in order to gain the additional knowledge to pass the test with a 3 or higher. I will also set reminders on
my phone and begin using my planner every day so that I can keep track of my schedule and test dates. In order to
overcome my weakness in using resources inappropriately during class, I will try to focus and take notes during class even
if the class is extremely hard. My hope for the future is that I will be able to complete AP Calculus to be well
knowledgeable for my business degree. I know that managers need to have knowledge of math in order to manage a
business, so it is my hope that by following this plan for AP Calculus will be able to take one step closer to my dream.
