    Interview Process Proposals

    Before Interview:
    Jennifer gives a brief overview of what a learning assistant does in an ASA second
    grade classroom.

    Interview Questions:
    # THEME POSSIBLE QUESTIONS

    1 Experience Tell us about your experience working with children.


    Tell us about any experience that you have teaching
    children. We would be interested in knowing about
    the age of the children, and the type of content that
    you taught.

    2 Motivation Why do you think you are a good fit for this position
    and what could you contribute?

    3 Scenarios What would you do if:


    A student doesnt understand a math concept when
    you explain it to him?
    Two students have an argument/disagreement? How
    would you help resolve it?

    Other Ideas:
    Reading fluency and comprehension to be assessed using level Y running record
    Writing/spelling prompt (10 minutes): What are your hobbies and how could they
    contribute to a second grade classroom?
    Instructions to applicant: Im going to give you a paper, pencil and eraser. On the
    paper you will find a writing prompt that we would like you to write one or two
    paragraphs about. You will have ten minutes to complete your writing. You may
    ask me questions if you do not understand the prompt.
