WhoisMalala
TeenActivism
Malala became a global symbol of strength and also resistance when
she was age 15. By the age of 18 she had already written a memoir and
became the youngest ever peace prize winner. In July 2013, her first public
speech since the attack became a global news story and still was only nine
months after her accident. By 2014, its full year of operation, the Malala
fund had already committed 3.5 million dollars at its work. She started to
speak about education rights in 2008, when she was 11 years old. And
because of her father she began to write an anonymous blog for the BBC
Urdu website under the pseudonym Bui Makai. The blog was a very risky
decision but Malalas father himself insisted that that his 11 year old girl
could do it. In her own words, Malala wrote we realize the importance of
our voices only when we are silenced. She didnt even need help, she got
to work and she finished it.
On her blog, Malala says Let us wage a glorious struggle against
illiteracy, poverty and terrorism. Let us pick up our pen, they are the most
powerful weapon. One child, one book, and one pen, can change the
world. education is the only solution!
MalalaChildhood
Malala was born on July 12, 1997 and she was the eldest child of her
father and also her mother. She was named after a Pashtun heroine
Malalai. Malala has two brothers and her family ran a group of schools.
Her father was an education activist and taught her English and Urdu. As
Malala grew up, her father had a feeling that she was going to be special.
As a child she expressed herself and her thoughts. Malala went to school
where her father attended. She began to write an anonymous blog for the
BBC and expressed her feelings about education and life as a woman
under the threat of the Taliban.
Malalafund
The goal of the Malala Fund is to have 12 years of education for girls
an and to make sure that girls have education. They fight and support
resources to ensure girls get 12 years of education. They want to have their
voices heard so then people could donate to the malala fund and to make
the girls dream come true to have as much education as they want. The
