HOF Village to include about 100,000
square feet of retail, restaurant space

Retail and restaurant space at
Hall of Fame Village will appeal
not only to football fans but also
to families of all kinds.
Were working on putting
some of those deals together,
said Peter Goffstein, a senior
vice president for Industrial
Realty Group. Were going to
try to pick the best of the best
and integrate them into our
plan.
Earlier in June, AVI Foodsys-
tems announced it will be the
exclusive food service provider
for the Village. The company,
based in nearby Warren, suc-
cessfully has executed the
catering services for the the
Halls Enshrinement Weekend
and Gold Jacket Dinner for more
than 20 years. It plans to open
a Starbucks bistro in the fall
inside the museum. It alsowill
offer concession services at Tom
Benson Hall of Fame Stadium
during Enshrinement Weekend,
and those services will expand at
some point to include in-seat
dining, suite catering and mobile
food carts.
As a family organization
and an active member of the
community, AVI is honored to
partner with the Pro Football
Hall of Fame Village, company
President and CEO Anthony
Payjavlas said in a statement.
This project is paramount in
the continued development of
Northeast Ohios marketplace,
making it a true family attrac-
tion and destination.
Goffstein said IRG and AVI are
working to add a football hero-
themed restaurant with a steak
concept to the Village, in addi-
tion to an interactive sports bar.
We havent named it yet,
but weve referred to it as the
worlds greatest sports bar,
Goffstein said. If you cant do
sports great at the Hall of Fame,
where else can you do it?
John Coker, executive vice
president at AVI, echoed Goff-
steins sentiment.
Weve spent countless hours
strategizing and determining the
restaurant design and approach
that will be a perfect fit for Hall
of Fame Village, Coker said.
Every detail of the interiors
and exteriors will be designed
to pay homage to the incredible
football icons.
Quick restaurants planned
Other restaurant plans for
Hall of Fame Village include
at least one other fine-dining
establishment and two or three
quick service-type restaurants.
In the chain market, that
would be the Chipotles of the
world, Goffstein said as an
example.
We have to think of our
demographic. Well have all
these kids coming to play foot-
ball, soccer and lacrosse. They
may not actually have time to
sit down for a full meal. Well
have a sandwich place, Im sure,
and we have one group thats
working on theming some sort
of Hall of Fame quick-service
restaurant.
Goffstein said IRG aims to
include numerous entertain-
ment-related venues so that
Hall of Fame Village appeals to
its visitors all week long.
The type of thing weve
seen in projects like this include
bowling or karaoke bars, he
said. We want things people
can do and enjoy not just Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, but also
the rest of the week.
Retailers of the soft goods
variety will make up most of the
villages shopping component.
You can expect to see retail-
ers of clothing and sports and
athletic merchandise, whether
its a specialty baseball hat or
sunglasses company, Goff-
stein said. I think youll see
some types of stores that are
more womens oriented as well.
We have moms and grandmas
who are part of the family, too,
so we want to reach our entire
demographic.
Goffstein said IRG has
designed about 100,000 square
feet of restaurant and retail
possibilities in its first phase of
plans.
Around 100,000 square feet
gives you a good synergy for
people to come out and shop at
a number of stores, Goffstein
said. It also gives us the oppor-
tunity to be very selective with
who we choose to not just fill
space.
