Mel Colmcille Gerard Gibson

Mel Gibson was born in Peekskill, New York, in 3rd January in 1956; he is the son
of Hutton Gibson and Anne Reilly Gibson, and is the sixth of eleven children.

At the age of 12, he moved to Australia with his family because, both of his elder
brothers, were in the risk of being called for the national draft and fight in the
Vietnam war

His career started while he lived in Australia, one of the biggest success he had
was the role he played in the movie Mad Max in 1979 , and appeared as guest
actor in a couple of Australian television shows.

His debut in Hollywood was in the movie The river in 1984, after that, the fame and
importance of Mel Gibson grew making him one of the most important actors of
1990, after all the fame he won in acting, he decided to try in the industry as a
producer, this part of his career is one of the most polemics part of his life, even
making him thrown off his own projects.

Even with that, the career of Mel Gibson had an important period, as an director
Mel Gibson directed one of the movies that will make him recorded for the public
for a long time, his role in the direction in The passion of Christ in 2002, made him
one of the most recognized directors in the time the movie appeared, and the
movie that gave him the Academy Award, was Braveheart in 1995, making him a
successful movie director, and the most important part of his career.

Mel Gibson is known too for his philanthropic personality, two of the most important
known donations he had made, was for the Healing the Childrean foundation, his
objective is give medical care to the children worldwide, and the director of the
foundation, has said Mel Gibson gave millions of dollars to keep the work of the
foundation, and the another big donation he made , was for the El Mirador Basin
project, that consist in protect the last virgin rain forest in central America, he made
a donation for half million dollars.

Actually, Mel Gibson is in a relationship with former champion equestrian vaulter

and writer Rosalind Ross, and are expecting his first child, the ninth for Mel Gibson
since his first marriage.

In his Career, in the past June of this year, he announced that he will reunite with
Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace to make a sequel for The Passion of the
Christ, focusing on the resurrection of Jesus Christ
