Procedure to open Pelletizer Water Chamber in case of power outage

PURPOSE
This procedure describes the steps to open Pelletizer Water Chamber in case of total power outage.
Usually water chamber can be opened by switching on LCP. This procedure must be performed only in
case of water chamber cannot be opened by normal procedure.

PREPERATION
NOTE : When PCW is contained in water changer and/or pelletizer motor is running, this procedure must
not be performed. Also to remove any potential hazard, make sure the following activities must be done
before opening water chamber.

1. Confirm all interlock is cleared on LCP.

Actualmente se queda sin energia el PLC
2. Confirm PCW Pump stopped. La valvula es FC, se puede abrir con la solenoide
3. Open drain valve on Pelletizer and completely drain PCW remaining water chamber.
4. Confirm PCW 3-way valve is in by-pass (return to PCW tank)
5. Confirm Cutter shaft splash water is stopped.
6. Confirm no PCW is inside of water chamber by LZI-0532A, LZI-0532B and visual check from
inspection window.
7. Confirm pelletizer motor is stopped.
8.- Falta mover las navajas hacia atras, se puede mover con la solenoide.
WATER CHAMBER OPENING
1. Stop hydraulic oil pump. Esta fuera por falla de energia
2. Crack open bypass valve from accumulator on hydraulic oil unit. This is to release the pressure in
Accumulator. Se revisara cuando pare la unidad 51, si baja la presion mas
rapido

3. Confirm pressure is 0 kg/cm2G by PI-600556.

release the pressure in clamp hyd oil line. Se puede accionar mecanicamente la solenoide para
bajar la presion
NOTE : Pressurized oil may be splashed from vent nozzle. Apply cover on the nozzle.

5. Confirm oil pressure is less than 2 kg/cm2G by PI-600586.

6. Confirm the gap is made between clamp cylinder stopper and latch, to allow latch movement.
7. Close air vent valve which have been opened by above step-4.
8. Close IA isolation valve for latch air cylinder. Se puede manipular las solenoides manualmente para
abrir el lach.
9. Release IA pressure by reducing the set pressure of air regulator (PCV-600620) before latch air
cylinder. Now latch is free to move.
