Ashley was a student teacher at Peter Woodbury School for the first half of the 2016-2017 school year. She was placed in a fourth grade classroom and worked with the grade level Special Education case manager as well. She has demonstrated a level of professionalism and ability that is commendable. Ashley was selected to be a student teacher at our school because of her academic record and accomplishments. Furthermore, she demonstrated a maturity and pattern of organization that was remarkable. By student teaching in the fall semester, Ashley was able to participate in all before school activities and work collaboratively with her cooperating teacher to set up the classroom and prepare the vision for the school year. The amount of care and organization that Ashley brought to the process was remarkable. Her cooperating teachers would often comment on the amount of precision she would bring to a lesson, her plans, or the general operations of the classroom. This level of precision along with flexibility made Ashley a very effective student teacher. I can think of no greater quality that a teacher can have than self-reflection. Ashley showed an ability to reflect on what worked and didn't work. She would consult with her cooperating teachers to find the solution to issues and best ways to address the needs of the students. Ashley is as reflective a teacher as | have seen and this quality will serve her well in her careér in education.
