Description

The painting is called Water Lilies and it was

created by French Impressionist painter, Claude
Monet. Although it isn't just one oil painting,
Monet created a series of 250 paintings. He was
painting water lilies for the last 30 years of
his life. He also was suffering from cataract
(clouding of the lens in the eye which leads to a
decrease vision) for most of the paintings.
Analyze
The elements used in his paintings were color, space,
shape and texture. First color was used to capture
what he saw at the moment, how the sun bounced off the
water, or how light or dark the lilies were. The
negative and positive space was used to make the
painting have contrast. Shape was used to define the
water lilies, clouds and vines and make them differ
from one another. Texture was used to show the visual
feel of the lilies, water, and clouds.
Interpret

I believe that the message Monet was giving was

that, anybody can create something beautiful even
if they have obstacles in their way.
Judgment

All in all, I think that the Water Lilies made

by Monet are incredible. I think he takes his
time in capturing the beautiful scenery and
making it last forever.
