University of Rhode Islands Musicians Guild Holds First Hip-Hop Show

Kingston, RI. - The University of Rhode Islands Musicians Guild is hosting its first hip-

hop show in its history. This show, headlining Providence artist Lunchbagg, will take place in

the University of Rhode Islands Kingston Campus Memorial Union, atrium two, on March 18,

2017 at 7:00 PM.

Tickets are $5, with all proceeds going to URIs philanthropic Strike a Chord foundation,

a non-profit organization with the goal of bringing together music and philanthropy through

benefit concerts and charity events as explained by member Sally Doherty.

The newly appointed Vice President, Joshua Zenil, stated With this show we will be able

to provide a fun way to give back and bring people from different music scenes all together for a

good cause.

The Musicians Guilds personal mission is to provide URI students with entertainment

paired with opportunities for social activism. This will be the first show that the Musicians

Guild has put on that is outside of the rock genre, We're excited to finally branch out and

involve other local artists so we can get more people involved with these great causes and

provide more entertainment for the URI community! says president Ryan Collins.
