Gifted & Talented Program

The goal of the newly revised REACH Program is to provide optimal learning
experiences that enrich and enhance the learning environment for all
students through the development of critical, creative and higher order
thinking skills.

At this time the program offers STEM lessons to all third grade students. The
REACH teachers visit the classrooms for three week units involving science,
technology, engineering and math. These classes are offered on a rotating
basis so that not all classes will have the lessons at the same time.

In grades 4 and 5 we offer seminars in the areas of Math and Literacy to

students who are identified as having advanced skills in those areas. This
identification is based on a matrix of objective criteria. Additionally, we offer
a group of self select programs such as Independent Study in both grades
and WordMasters , a national vocabulary and analogies programs, to grade 5
students.
