Greetings,

At the start, Id like to express our pleasure of giving us the opportunity to present our
proposal to your corporation with all of its expertise and honorable history which we hope to
benefit from.

AAPG SU SC is the one of student chapters representing AAPG international in Egypt,


established in petroleum engineering, Suez University. Our activity was initiated towards
making improvements to the petroleum engineers abilities and widening their future career
paths.

Our aim is to raise the soul of co-operation and integration between petroleum engineers
referring to the importance of having such culture in the upcoming life issues and to achieve
advancement in our standards by creating a new generation of highly qualified graduates,
with proper academic & technical backgrounds.

Our organization aims to be part of the change in Egypt through the duty we assigned to
ourselves, which is targeting reaching a reputable standard of education and achieving a
Creditable system suitable for our abilities and our best that we intend to do.

About AAPG

Founded in 1917, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists is currently the world's largest
professional geological society.

Since its founding in 1917, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists has been a pillar of
the world-wide scientific community. The original purpose of AAPG, to foster scientific research, to
advance the science of geology, to promote technology, and to inspire high professional conduct, still
guides the Association today.

Currently the world's largest professional geological society with over 30,000 members, AAPG
provides publications, conferences, and educational opportunities to geoscientists and disseminates
the most current geological information available to the general public.
AAPG student chapters

AAPG gives the opportunity to students to open and start up their own Student Chapters at their
universities. This encourages students all over the world to develop technical and personal skills and
have a taste of their future careers that awaits them.
Here in Suez University, we believe that students are the bright future, and it is essential to develop
their skills and knowledge.

Our achievements (AWARDS)

(2008-2009):
1.Book gift award from AAPG international board.
2. Best you-tube channel all over AAPG student chapters.

-2010):
1.4th outstanding chapter all over AAPG student chapters.
2. Best AAPG website all over AAPG student chapters.
3. Best student chapter in faculty of petroleum and mining engineering .

-2011):
1. L'Austin weeks memorial undergraduate grant
- AAPG SCU was awarded L'Austin week's memorial undergraduate grant.
2. Best Club in Suez Canal University (the triple effect)
- AAPG SCU was selected as the BEST CLUB around Suez Canal University in the triple effect initiative blood
donation campaign.
- We were awarded from PWC (sponsor of the project), vice president of Suez Canal University and the general
manager of national blood transfusion bank
in Ismailia.

(2012 -2013)
1. Book gift award from AAPG international board
2. Best student chapter in the faculty of petroleum and mining engineering.
3. Best scientific association in Suez University Awarded from the student union" for more than 50 events & more
than 3000 recipient students.

(2014-2015)
1. L'Austin weeks memorial undergraduate grant
- AAPG SCU was awarded L'Austin week's memorial undergraduate grant
2. the outstanding chapter all over the world presented from AAPG international.
Season 2014- 2015

1) Job Fair
the targets set for the Job Fair:

Fair is Suez Governorate, since all Job Fairs are carried out in the capital
city, Cairo.

Egypt, and the criteria upon which the applicants are assessed.

The event was believed successful after fulfilling every one of these goals, to summarize the
outcome of the event:
By cooperation with the ministry of youth and sports, the job fair has fulfilled its purpose by
coming to life and becoming the 1st Job Fair outside the capital city and the 1st to be completely
organized by a student organization.
15,000 participants turned up for the event, the majority from outside Suez came from Ismailia
and Port Said 90 and 170 km respectively from Suez. Marking this job fair is one of the best
publicized and events for AAPG SU SC to get involved in.
2) AAPG Extreme Night

Theme: A full day program for petroleum and geoscience students


Date: Monday, 8thDecember, 2014.
Time: 4 hours program (5: 00 pm- 9: 00pm)
Venue: GUPCO Company headquarters at El-Maadi, Cairo, Egypt.

3) GMES Mini-Conference.
Theme: A one day mini conference for Students about Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Date:
Saturday, 13thDecember, 2014.
Time: 5 hours program (2: 00 pm- 7: 00pm)
Venue: the grand hall of Engineers Syndicate, Suez. Speakers:
Mr. M. Yasser Ghalab Business Account Manager at Vodafone, gave a speech about Digital
Marketing.
Mrs. Shereen Badr SEO specialist at Bezzat (an online advertising service), gave her speech
on social marketing.
Mr. Mohamed Samir Co-founder of DEconomy ventures, gave a motivational speech for
entrepreneurial ventures.
Mr. Abdelrahman Magdy CEO and founder of Egypreneur, sharing his image of experience
and knowledge through his success story.
Total Participation: 200 Students from our students Chapter and the whole university.
4) Learn2Earn training development program.

Theme:Two weeksfull course for Students about English, marketing and soft skills. Date:15th-
30, November, 2014.
Time:3 hours program everyday (4: 00 pm- 7: 00pm) Venue:We rent a prepared hall for the
event.
Speaker:Mr. Amr Eid.
Professional English Speaker Diploma (PESD).
Express English for Business Communication.
English Communication for Oil & Gas Engineers Diploma (ECOGED).
English Communication for Medical Students (ECMS).
Total Participation:100 Students from the Suez University.

5)Petrocloud
Venue: the grand hall at Engineers' syndicate
Attendees: 100 students from AAPG SU and from our university

Time: from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm

On March 4th, 2015 AAPG Suez organized a program of 5 sessions about working on petroleum and
Geology field.
Five engineers from different companies shared their knowledge and experience of work to be able
to accomplish our vision by reducing the gap between the student and the petroleum and geology
market.
6)Es3a seek the peak
Theme: A one day mini-conference about English language skills, how to get a scholarship,
travelling experience and human resources.
Total participation: 650 attendees from different universities all over Egypt
Date: Saturday April 4th, 2015
Time: 9 hours program (10.00 am: 7.00 pm)
Venue: Higher technological institute, Cairo
On April 4th, 2015, at the higher technological institute, AAPG SU conducted one of the largest
mini-conferences about these topics ever to be held in Egypt.
The event was published in the national newspapers.
The event speakers:
Mr. Abdullah Amer instructor at Nickerson hall council gave speech at English pronunciation skills
Egypt scholars gave its speech about how to get a scholarship and make the best use of it.
British council gave its speech by Ms. Dina Mohamed as an orientation session for IELTS
Mr. Mohamed Mo'men gave his speech about travelling experience as he had travelled to about 32
countries all over the world
Mr. Mohamed Sami HR manager at Egypt food and beverages gave his speech about interviewing
skills and self-development

7)Geological field trip
Theme: AAPG Suez organized a geological field trip.
Date: Saturday, 25th, April, 2015.
Time: 8 hours program (8: 00 Am- 4: 00pm)
Venue: Attaqa Mountain in Suez.
Total Participation: 50Students
from our students Chapter and the
whole faculty.
Introduction:
On Saturday, 25th April, 2015, a
yard Trip was organized for
petroleum and geoscience students
across the university by AAPG
Suez.
The day started by a word of our
chapter advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Abbas
about the geological site and the
structure there.
Then there was a practical work of
exploration and defining the rocks
there.
Finally the students went through a
tour visit in the site to see more and
more under the supervision of our supervisor Prof. Dr. Ali Abbas.
