This is an award I received in my Freshman year.

The award is given to a person who showed

perseverance, overcoming odds, improving their grades and/or their behavior. I never expected

to be nominated, let alone win an award. This makes me proud because it shows me that as long

as I try, anything can be accomplished. A reason I was awarded this was my trip to Mexico

toward the end of the first semester. I tried to do homework while I was there, but it was hard

trying to keep up with content I wasnt familiar with. I finished the semester with mainly Cs,

Ds, a single B and F. They were not so low because I kept my grades high until that point. For

end of the second semester, I finished with only As and Bs.
