Beloved Friend, Teacher and Grand Blanc Community Member

Leaves behind Love and Memories

Today, Grand Blanc Community Schools mourns the loss of a wonderful man who was both a beloved
teacher and the Voice of the Bobcats. Charlie Carmody collapsed on March 29th, Wednesday morning
while at the high school where he has taught for the past 24 years. Students who were with him
immediately called 911 and began to administer CPR with help from staff members. Mr. Carmody was
rushed to Genesys Hospital via ambulance where all efforts were made. At approximately 8:30 a.m., Mr.
Carmody passed away.

It is with a heavy heart that Superintendent Clarence Garner informed the district of the loss. Mr.
Carmody has long served as the Voice of the Bobcats and has been one of Grand Blanc Schools most
visible figures in the community. Mr. Garner, in an announcement sent district wide, said This is a huge
loss for our school, district, and the Grand Blanc community, and asked for Mr. Carmodys wife Chris,
and children Jonathon, 10th grader at Grand Blanc High School, and Olivia, 8th grade teacher at West
Middle School, to be kept in our thoughts and prayers.
