The board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama (BGCWA) has received and
accepted the resignation of our organization's former CEO. We are appreciative of Mr. Bushs
positive consideration in this regard and thank him for over a decade of service to our
community thru the BGCWA. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement in this
matter, and will refrain from further comment on the matter until the legal process is complete.

As part of our ongoing administrative review we have provided enhanced training and
resources for full- and part-time staff to ensure we remain vigilant in the safety and protection
of Tuscaloosa's youth. We will re-open our facilities for regular operations and hours on
Monday, April 3.

We are working with leaders from Boys & Girls Clubs of America to identify an interim CEO for
our organization in the coming week, and will soon begin a nation-wide search for a full-time
replacement.

Speaking on behalf of the board, Randy Charles, Board Chair, would like to express our
appreciation for the support provided our organization by our community, our local leaders and
our national organization.

We are especially encouraged by the positive response of our staff and team to move forward
with intention of providing an even better experience for the children of our community. And
additionally, understanding the inconvenience provided the parents and guardians of the
children over these past days, we want to assure them that the valuable time afforded our
team during this review will only serve to enhance our abilities both today, and as we prepare
for our summer season.
