that occur between living and

To follow this lesson the teacher
made a chart of living and
nonliving things and asked the
students what objects/things
would go under each column
engaged through the first
question presented to them
whether they were living or
nonliving
Explore: Students listened to a
story and learned about actual
facts/ characteristics of living and
nonliving things
Explain: Teacher prompts
students by asking questions
about living and nonliving things.
The students also tell the teacher
which pictures are of living and
nonliving things and why.
Elaborate: Teacher checks
understanding by having
students recognize living and
nonliving things on a worksheet.

The teacher also had laminated

copies of pictures that went
along with the book and items
the students had mentioned. The
teacher had projected these
pictures on the projector for
students to evaluate
