Meet the Teacher

Dear
families,

My name is Shelby Hurst and I am excited to be placed at North

Elementary School for the second part of my student teaching internship!
For the first part of my internship I was lucky enough to work in two different
schools, Eastern High School and Sexton High School. This semester I will be
working with veteran kindergarten teacher, Susan Gorbe. I am a Michigan
State University graduate with a baccalaureate in Special Education and
Learning Disabilities and a focus in Social Studies. I was born and raised in
the Lansing area and I am very excited to be working close to home.

Throughout the rest of this school year I will be working closely with
your students and Mrs. Gorbe on a daily basis. I will be lead-teaching, co-
teaching, consulting and collaborating to hopefully improve my skills as an
up and coming teacher in my own classroom, but also the students skills as
they get ready to transition to the next school year. I am excited for this
opportunity and look forward to working with you and your student!
