The Dream Defenders stand in solidarity with Omar Barghouti, a

courageous defender of the Palestinian people and a co-founder of the
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Omar and his wife
Safa were detained by Israeli authorities on fabricated tax evasion charges
in yet another attempt to repress Barghoutis work for Palestinian liberation.
This stunt comes just a few weeks ahead of Barghouti receiving a Gandhi
Peace Award at Yale University in the States.

We sat with Omar in January 2015 and May 2016 and were witness to his
brilliance, love and commitment to the struggle for liberation of Black and
Palestinian peoples.

We see and condemn the attempts of the Israeli governments right wing to
silence the BDS movement and smear Barghoutis reputation. The Dream
Defenders stand with Palestine and fellow defenders of the dreams of
oppressed peoples around the world.
