Courses of study and German Language Course
There are no special preparatory courses for exchange students during the summer term.
However exchange students have the possibility to visit accompanying courses German as a
foreign language offered for all international students during the term.
All students who want to improve their German language skills are recommended to use DUO, the
new German learning portal for studies and sciences under the guidance of experienced tutors.

Registration/Fees:
All students of TUHH need to register at the beginning of each semester.
Exchange students should register at the International Office where they receive the
registration documents.
In order to register, students need to fill a registration form and pay a semester contribution
fee of ca. 200 . This sum includes a semester ticket for public transport in Hamburg and access
to the Internet within the university.
No other fees are required for exchange students at the Hamburg Technical University.
Orientation program:
There will be an extra information meeting for Exchange Students in April 2009! Students will
be given useful information on their stay at TUHH including introductions to the university,
courses, registration and advisory service.

Accommodation
Please fill in the accommodation search form. The form should be returned to the
Accommodation Office of TUHH by the end of December 2008 at the latest. If we have not
heard from you by the above date, we will assume that you have made arrangements
