My media specialist and I have evaluated our school media
program using the guidelines provided by the Georgia Department of Education, GADOE's 2015 Judy Serritella Exemplary Library Media Program Self-Evaluation Rubric. This evaluation plan focuses on six categories divided into 22 indicators containing three levels of proficiency - Basic, Proficient, and Exemplary. We collaborated to produce an objective decision on the quality of our media program at this time using the rubric.
At the conclusion of our evaluation, we tallied our results
using the three main categories of basic, proficient, and exemplary. We found that our center is basic in 9 areas, proficient in 10 areas, and exemplary in only 2 areas. To improve our program, we made some suggestions for improvements to be implemented in the attached "Action Plan" document. For your convenience we also included the original rubric with the defined categories.
