Who Am I?

By Savannah Martin
Hi!

My name is Savannah Martin. I was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to

California when I was 2.
Who Am I?
I am a scientist, I am the future of medicine, and I am an animal lover,

I am in love with science. My junior year I elected to take three science classes,
AP Biology, Genetics, and Biotechnology, along with my regular and other AP
courses. I prospered that year because I was in classes that I felt true passion
for.
I will find ways to help everyone. While my plans are to be an anesthesiologist
but research medicine is not completely out of the question. I plan to touch the
lives of everyone I can and positively influence them.
I love all animals. Life cant be all work and no fun and games. Animals are my
relaxing time. I have a house full of dogs and cats, all of whom I love with a
passion.
Volunteering
When I was young my family used to volunteer for New Beginnings, a no kill
rescue center for animals. They would be transported out of pounds and to
No-Kill shelters in Washington and other northern states. We used to help with
that.
I volunteered in my summers to help underprivileged kids learn how to swim. I
love working with kids and it was a pleasure all summer long.
I am actively an AVID Mentor. I volunteer an hour every day to go to younger
AVID classes and tutor underclassmen.
Work Experience
For two summers I worked as a Lifeguard and Swim instructor. It was my joy
and pleasure to be surrounded by children and to teach them a vital thing that
can save lives in the future.
I also have experience in sandwich and coffee shops. I have been great with all
kinds of people from all over the world, as I worked in areas that were heavily
trafficked by tourists from Asia, Europe, and other places.
I also have experience in retail and am very good with customer service.
Strengths
I am extremely hard working. There is nothing better than getting a project
done correctly and on time. I like to feel on top of my responsibilities and feel
accomplished at the end of the day. There is nothing worse than a wasted day.
I am great with all kinds of people. From worried parents who trust me with
their children's lives in the swimming pool to one year olds to tourists who
dont speak much english, I am amazing with anyone I come into contact with.
Weaknesses
I am a perfectionist. This can be a good or bad thing. I need my work to be
flawless. I will do it until I feel that it is right no matter how much time it takes.
Frustration. I am not easily frustrated, but when I become so it is hard to get
what I need to get done. It becomes hard for me to step away and take a deep
breath I can be obsessive and work until my work is up to my standards.
