Preservice Teacher: Alura Mallonee Observer: Ms. S

Date: 3/20/17 School: Oakhurst STEAM Academy
Time: 10:45am Grade: 5th
Subject: Science

1. What are your goals and objectives for this lesson?

My goal is to reinforce understanding of force and motion through a hands-on activity.
2. What are some specific things you would like observed?
Specific things I would like observed would be how well I gave the lesson, if my
instructions were clear, if the lesson was too long/short, if my language was appropriate for the
age/grade level, and what I could work on to make the lesson better.

To be completed by the Observer:

3. Strengths to continue to build on:
Pacing of lesson was good and kept students on task.
Student activity sheet allowed them to access prior knowledge and then apply it to
the marshmallow shooters.
4. Suggestions for future lessons:

Pass out the activity sheet and go over directions before students are put into
groups- this ensures everyone hears and understands the directions.
Give the students a direction to follow after they find their groups- (Make a group
of four and have a seat on the floor). This way they know what is expected and it lets
you know who has a group and who does not.
