Bronze

Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 12% tin and
often with the addition of other metals (such as aluminium, manganese, nickel or zinc) and
sometimes non-metals or metalloids such as arsenic, phosphorus or silicon. These additions
produce a range of alloys that may be harder than copper alone, or have other useful
properties, such as stiffness, ductility or machinability.

Composition : 88% copper + 12% tin

Brass
Brass is a metal alloy made of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can
be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties.

Main component of brass is copper. The amount of copper are variative between 55% until
95%.

Second component of brass is zinc. The amount of zinc are variative between 5% until 40%

Composition : (55%-95%) Copper + (5%-40%)

Steel
The carbon content of steel is between 0.002% and 2.1% by weight for plain iron-
carbon alloys.

Carbon content of steel : 0.002% - 2.1%

Cast Iron
Alloys with a higher than 2.1% carbon content, depending on other element content and
possibly on processing, are known as cast iron.

Carbon content of cast iron : > 2.1% carbon
