Introduction

In my seminar training, I had a chance to be trained at Mabanee Company .It was a


wonderful experience and I learn so many things.

Mabanee Company is one of the leading and largest real state developer, owned by
kuwaitis top institution and high net worth individuals in Kuwait .

They operates under three main business lines in Real state , Investment and
Construction through which now a days their specialty in the region are recognized in
the country who developed the most innovative and eye catching project in todays
prosperous landscape in Kuwait.

They started on 1964 with 5000 KWD shareholding capital, from which they specializes
with Pre cast building, construction works and real state installation. With careful
planning, this Mabanee Company grew more by participating in Urban and Government
project .Then on 1999 , they were listed in Kuwait stock exchange with shareholding
capital of 89.2 million KWD. And by 2002, the company transformed Industrial flats into
commercial area. And by 2004, the company Mabanee was recognized unto the
present.

Presently, Mabanee Company offices are located at The Grand Avenues Mall. I got a
chance to be trained there from different places and work cite inside the Mall. Together
with the assigned supervisor, we did the tour to inspect the mall facilities and check and
evaluate the damage in the mall. Also, we discussed things which needed to be replace
or repair. Further, we discussed and made decision to make further changes outside the
mall area by changing the font from being a pool sprinkler to a pulling water to reduce
the size of the pool. Moreover, another problem was discussed on the Mezzanine area
through which Fast Food Court are located.

ABSTRACT

On October 24, 2016 - , I started my training at Mabanee Company .This


Company is a real Estate business through which they established malls
around GCC countries, and from which , Kuwait is their Main Office.

Facilities Management is one of their division dealing with the maintenance


of the building. Civil works and cleaning are the main scope of the
division .Through which, the management assigned me to be trained in
cleaning unit as my first training area assignment.

The Plan and Training Task
The Supervisor explain to me Locations and Task to be done in the mall, as
follows;

I. LOCATION

The Avenues Mall has three (3) Phases;

1. PHASE (1)

2. PHASE (2) sub-located into Sectors:

3. PHASE (3) sub-located into name base on concept:

The Mall

II. ASSIGNED TASK

1. Deep Cleaning of the following;

Toilets
Common Areas
Staircases
Corridors
Prayer Room
Parking
Lobbies
Elevators

2. Reporting of damages part (facilities) to Civil Unit or Helpdesk .

3. Controls all Cleaning equipment and machine.

4. Controls and provide cleaning materials and consumables.

5. Implements ISO program.

6. Secure that entire mall is in good conditions and well clean.

(Note: details of the above mention subject are as follows)

Abstract
The Avenues Mall always seek for the improvement of each areas to
be more enticing to its investors and customers. There is now

renovation on one side part of the Food Court to expand the area for
the accommodation of huge customers during weekend.

The plan and work done:


I suggested some changes for the design of Fountain which was
located at AL-SASAL Entrance.
The main objective of my proposal was to make the area more space
so that the road will be free from any accident which were recorded
incident thats naturally occurring due to the congestion of the
available space.

Proposed Plan

My proposed plan is to minimize the size of the width parameter of


the fountain from five meter (5 meter) to two point five meter (2.5 m).

Proposed Design

In my design I, focused in two points:

1) I will change the movement of water from sprinkle to full flow to


reduce the width parameter of the fount.

2) The fount location is outside of the mall. Therefore I decided to put


a cleaning material ( hydrogen peroxide solution ) for maintenance
purposes to keep water clean during season where unlikely
weather
Naturally occurring here in Kuwait (dusty weather).

EVERY day we have problems in the
mall regarding the maintenance and
civil works. For example cracking of
tiles, damage wall and flooring, pipe
lines and, etc. We asked coordination
of the helpdesk to post an email to
attend and so as to inform the
management of the occurred
problems so as to make action to
coordinate on fixing it.

On this report they have 20 problems, we solve 3 of them.
The following problems are as follows:
LOCATION: In Men toilets at ph3 /GF (ground floor)/11
PROBLEM: The problem is baby room lock damage.

Scenario happened in SAUDI ARABIA, a child accidentally


bumped her head in contact with the rubbish bin due to baby
room lock damage. Therefore, Engr. Mohamed suggested to
design a signage log for safety warning to all people using the
Comport Room and some specific on the proper way of using
the rubbish bin.

The second log: (figure 1:5) which is chosen

Abstract
The Avenues Mall build years back with the three
(3) phases and there is now on-going construction
for another phase .The structural design of the
AVENUES Mall is based on the concept of each area
.And each concept has a different treatment of the
maintenance .This treatment base on the surfaces:
materials, design, and physical structure.

For example:
I went to different places, such as; (phase , management
phase, security office and security room) to made inspection
check list for civil works work ,painting ,cleaning and etc.
Task done
When I went to the security room in basement 2, I inspected
that theres door lock (closer) was damage and so needed to be
repaired and or rehabilitate.

For example:
During the tour with the assigned supervisor, I saw and observed a stone
damage in the area at the entrance of Grand Avenues Mall, near to Starbucks
coffee shop.

I do the last inspection checklist at phase3 Ladies Toilet.

For example: I made a checklist in phase (3) for all lady
toilet Which approximately near to 23 toilet.I went and inspected toilet #18
, I saw the hand door broken.

The problem invite them to setup this project is the area at mezzanine 2
cannot be sustain with the numbers of visitor during the weekend.
Therefore, to solve this problem

They have two solution:

1) Construction new area .Like built 5 kioks in different material.

2) Demolishing some existing area such as ; 2 Aquarium and 1 fount


..
