2. Siwa Oasis, or you can call it Al-Wahat in Arabic, or Sekht-am as the ancient Egyptians
were calling it, which means "Palm Land."

3. It is one of the last remaining isolated innocent beautiful places in the world.

4. Siwa Oasis is located in Egypt, deep in the desert near the Egyptian-Libyan borders with
a capacity of twenty-three thousand people.

5. What's special about Siwa?

6. Most of the buildings of Siwa, if not all, are built of natural rock salt - even some of the
new modern buildings there.

7. Until now, still existing in the middle of town, is an old ancient fortress of Siwa called
Shali., Citizens used to live there to protect them from their enemies before the flood
came and Shali sank in it. Now, Shali is used as an ancient monument visited by tourists.

8. Siwa is in the desert but there was sea covering all this area one day. You'll find in some
places in the desert a lot of shells with beautiful shapes.

9. Siwa also has many sulfur springs that look amazing, some of them are cold and others
are hot, and you'd surely love to have a bath in these springs. One of these famous
springs is called "Cleopatra's Bath."

10. Siwa = Palm Land

11. Siwa is popular for its palm and olive trees (more than seventy thousand olive trees in
the area). Olive oil is one of Siwa's popular products used in Egypt and is exported to
Europe.

13. The Oasis specialized tours are designed to explore the Egyptian desert life and the
ancient lands where various aspects of life are observed within the Bedouin traditions,
and this is really amazing.

18. Siwa citizens are known as Bedouins.

19. Very simple, very helpful, and very kind. That is all I can say about them.

20. Bedouins in Siwa mostly live on agriculture, especially dates and olives, and in the last
decade, some of them started to work in tourism when tourists started visiting Siwa.

residents of these areas were trying to move to the cities in search of better job opportunities
and better living conditions.
