Abstract

Doctoral art project Images in-between nature and architecture represents an extensive work
comprised of series of drawings and prints, created as a result of the authors contemplation and
experiences related to the times of the works occurrence, characterized by extremes and
dehumanization of humanity. These phenomena are generally present in all areas of life, and this
projects aim is to artistically depict harmony between those essential ones, that is, the man and
his relationship with nature which is critically imbalanced and as such is being the cause of many
disorders present in contemporary human society and the environment that it creates.

Architecture as a work of man and the result of its impact on environment in urban spaces serves
as an artistic motif to the author in which she has recognized aforementioned elements of
imbalance. The author recognizes the potential of architecture as an important link between man
and his environment, and that it is an actual means that can distort or achieve the balance in this
relation. Thus, the architecture has become the principal motif through which the author by using
artistic means tries to portray her personal observations and strivings towards achieving the
harmony in works composed of elements derived from nature and architecture.

The projects both practical and written segments comprise an integral part of a complete whole
which aims to explain the authors ideas, thoughts, experiences and observations through a
detailed analysis of its theoretical, artistic and technical aspects. All those elements have been
transformed into a new and different art expression compared to the authors previous artistic
achievements, thus marking a shift in her creative endeavours.
