Holodomor The Ukrainian Genocide

Holodomor was a man-made famine that occurred from 1932

to 1933, and it caused about 10 million Ukrainians to die. To
begin, in 1928 the leader of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin,
started an act where the government owned all of the farms.
Many Ukrainians, who were also under the Soviets command,
didnt want to join Stalins plan. Stalin then began to spread the
rumor that the Ukrainians that didnt join him were the enemy. In
1930 the Soviets would forcefully taken the properties of
Ukrainian farmers. Stalin also made it so Ukraine had an
agricultural quota that was very unrealistic. Now there wasnt any
food left for the Ukrainians. Next, the Ukrainians started to starve.
The Ukrainians were forced to work in farms, but almost none of
the food they grew was theirs to eat. To prevent from dying, the
Ukrainians would steal the food that they were growing, but the
penalty, if they were caught, was fatal. They would be executed
or arrested. Once the millions of Ukrainians had died, the Soviets
started to move over one hundred thousand families to Ukraine.
Other than that, there isnt a clear end of Holodomor. The Soviets
denied that the famine ever happened. They also would kill those
that mentioned the man-made famine. The Ukrainians went
through a lot during Holodomor, and we can only hope that
something like this will never happen again.
