WELCOME Hello, Parents and Students! Welcome back to Millwood High Schools Choir Program! My name is Ms.
Sara Ann Patterson and I am the new Director of the choir program. To tell you a little about myself, I
earned my Bachelors degree in Vocal Music Education at Northwest Missouri State University and my

BACK! Masters at VanderCook College of Music. Before attending VandeCook, I taught at Wilburn Middle School
in Chicago, Illinois for 4 years. Then, I taught at Wilburn Senior High School for 7 years. I am excited your
students and make wonderful music this school year! This newsletter is to inform you on our Begging of the
Year Meeting coming up on August 16th before the students start school. There will be more information at
the meeting about class expectations and choir expectations at the meeting. This letter, also, tells more details

supervised trip, so that means we are there for a choir competition and some educational

District Talent show! Here are some tips when fundraising for TJ Pizza:
Start Asking Early
o Since you know the dates ahead of time, start asking and telling people so
they can be ready to buy
Ask everyone (BUT NOT STRANGERS)
o Ask people at your parents jobs, or your job, if you have one, and even
people next door you never know who will say yes
Personally ask people
o Even though your parents can fundraise, people like it when you ask them
to buy something from you even if it is over a phone or in person
For the Trivia Night, we will ask each choir to come up with basket ideas and either
donate an item or a few dollars to put things in it. The baskets will be auctioned the Trivia
night. If you have any questions email me or ask at the upcoming meeting, where there
will be more details. I cannot wait to meet all of you very soon and make wonderful
music this year!
