Dear Governor Dayton,

I am writing to you in order to express my gratitude towards your efforts on water quality

during your time representing the state of Minnesota as our Governor. I have read of your efforts

of contribution towards cleaning the water here in our great state of Minnesota where the lakes

are simply part of our lives. As well as the nickname you have received as the water Governor

representing your efforts to help water quality throughout the midwest and nationally.

I am writing you from my home in Edina, Minnesota. Some of my friends and I have

decided to focus on Great Lakes Pollution for a project in school. While this includes all of the

Great Lakes, we are focusing on the more local lakes such as Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.

You have done such a terrific job keeping our lakes in great shape, and should be

commended for it. I write this to encourage you to possibly focus your efforts on water quality

towards the Great Lakes of the midwest, and under your jurisdiction, specifically Lake Superior.

As I am sure youre aware of, Lake Superior is one of the most breathtaking locations in all of

the midwest. However, harmful chemicals as well as sulfide mining have clearly taken their toll
on such a beautiful lake. I encourage you to target sulfide mining as well as harmful chemical

use and try to end such atrocities.

Please consider what I have written to you, as I believe even small steps can cause such

great advances in the water quality of our beloved Lake Superior.
