Summary for King Arthur (Into. + Chap.

1)

Intro.

The tale of King Arthur and how he came to be the king of Britain is a very
old one. Like any old legend there are various versions to it. Most of them
originated from France and England. Of course to make it and even better
they had to include some fiction in it. The most famous version is the one
written by Sir Thomas Malory in 1484.

In all the different versions the basics of the story dont change. It takes
place somewhere between year 400 and 600. Where there was a king
(may or may not be King Arthur, probably is though.) who fought the
Saxons. Who were at the time, enemies of Britain from north Europe.

Chap. 1

There was once a King of Britain named King Uther, who was in love with a
lovely woman called Igraine. Unfortunately for him, Igraine did not love
him back. The love was not mutual. Until Merlin, the great wizard offered
to help him. He made Igraine fall in love with the love-struck king, in
exchange for his first born.

When Uther got his first child he named him Arthur. He had to hold to his
side of the bargain and he did. Merlin took the child and gave it to a night
named Sir Ector and his on , Kay.

They days passed and Uther died, but before he did he made sure to lt
Merlin know, that Arthur is to be king. The knights regarded Uthers wish
and fought for the crown. Greed overtook all of them and there was no
king for quite a while. But then in front of the church a stone appeared. A
stone with a sword stuck in the middle. On the stone was only one
sentence. Only The King Can Take The Sword From The Stone. So naturally,
all the nights pulled with all their might, but with no use. One day, when
Arthur and his family were watching a big fight, he tried to pull the sword
and it came out! Then the Archbishop made him do it again in front of the
knights so they recognize him as their king. And they did. Arthur tried to
be the best king he could be. His people loved him and were very happy to
have him as their king.

Long live king Arthur!

n.b: Mrs. Wiegele I know this is long for a summary, but the book itself is
very short and with zero details. Also, can we get like a better book for
school. I recommend holes; its definitely school appropriate and
extremely educating. The book might even improve the classs vocabulary.
Anyway its just a suggestion. And if you want me to print this or write it
down and give it to you in school, just tell me and I will do so.
