FITTING WITH HDPE PIPE

A) High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe & Fittings Specifications

for Cold Water Supply.

Material of pipes for cold water supply shall be of High Density Polyethylene
(HDPE) manufactured in compliant with MS 1058.

Material of fittings for cold water supply shall be of High Density Polyethylene
(HDPE) manufactured in compliant with BS EN 12201-3:2003.

B) Pipe/Fittings (Jointing Method)

1. Clean pipe ends to remove dirt, mud, and other debris from pipe ends.

2. Ensure that the pipe end has a square and even cut as close to 90
degree as possible.

3. Measure the total length of the coupler to be installed. Make a mark.

4. Scrape the outside of the pipe surface to remove oxidation and other
contaminants. Do not use sandpaper.

5. Do not touch the scraped pipe surface or the inside of the coupler as
body oils and other contaminates will compromise fusion joint performance.

6. Install coupler onto the pipe ends, the stab depth marks are aligned at
the outer edges of the coupler.

7. Make sure the generator is operating normally before powering the

control box. Connect the control box leads to the coupler. Make sure that all
connections and lead adapter tips are properly sized and secure.

8. After the fusion cycle is complete, verify fusion cycle completion is

normal. Check melts indicators.

9. Backfill and handling can be completed after the recommended

minimum cooling time has elapsed.

C) Manufacturers Requirements
Contractor shall use HDPE pipe PN12.5 compliant with SIRIM standard MS
