Dear Parents,

Hi! My name is Mackenzie, and I am a junior Early Childhood Education major. My

name is Rachel and I am also in my third year in the Early Childhood Education

department. We are excited to be working with your child on Thursday mornings.

Mackenzie and I have enjoyed meeting your children and interacting with them the last

few weeks. We are excited to continue our work with your children and help them

discover the world around them.

For our education class we are required to design an investigation around a science

topic that will encourage discovery and wonder in the children. My partner Rachel and I

have been working hard to choose a topic the children are interested in and to develop

lessons that will engage the children. The topic we decided upon is teeth. In the

upcoming weeks we will explore the shape and function of human versus animal teeth

and look at healthy ways to care for our teeth. We will also look at some common

problems that can occur if our teeth are not being taken care of properly. We are

excited to work with your children and teach them the importance of taking care of our

teeth!
