Relationship of prosome length and clutch size

Previous studies only correlated the temperature with the clutch size or prosome
length, but the relationship of the morphological and reproductive parameter, clutch
size and prosome length is rarely included. In this study, it was found that there is a
moderate and significant relationship between the prosome length and clutch size
of A. dorsalis. This result is parallel with previous studies concerning the calanoid
copepods Diaptomus minutus and Diaptomus oregonensis (Chow-Fraser & Maly,
1991), in which there is a positive correlation between female prosome length and
clutch size. Another study involving Eudiaptomus graciloides found a positive and
significant relationship between body size and number of eggs carried per female,
meaning large females had more eggs than small females (Ali et al. 2009).
