Section 6 - System/Component Descriptions Pilot Pressure Circuit Solenoid Valve (Activated by door switch to allow pilot pressure to the controls only when ‘cab door is closed) Vickers Mai Control Vai Figure 6-1 Pilot Pressure Circuit Pilot pressure is required to perform the following: * Provide control signal to operate the individual implement functions (booms, swing, etc..) + Provide control signal to operate the track drives. + Provide control signal to release the track brakes. + Provide control signal to shift the 2-speed track motors. 6-1 Rexroth main control valve: Pilot pressure is taken from the end caps of the valve. The pilot Pressure setting is controlled by a 500-600 psi pressure reducing valve capsule found inside each end cap (non-adjustable, but replaceable). Vickers main control valve: Pilot pressure is taken from the mid-inlet of the valve. The pilot Pressure setting is controlled by a 450-475 psi Pressure reducing valve cartridge in the mid-inlet (non-adjustable, but replaceable) Pilot pressure checks with either valve are taken at the pilot pressure valve located behind the cab. NOTE: When all implement functions are in the neutral position, the highest pilot pressure reading will equal the implement pump's stand-by pressure (425 psi). When an implement function 1s activated, the pressure reducing valve controls pilot pressure. ‘See Page 9-1 for pressure check procedures. Implement Circuit ‘The TIMBGO Feller Buncher uses state-of-the-art load sense, pressure compensated hydraulics. Load sense system: ‘A load sense hydraulic system monitors the hydraulic requirement to perform a function and allows the pump to deliver only the flow and pressure required to do that function. As the workload increases, the pump produces more flow and pressure to match demand. A load sense system is very efficient because the pump only produces what is actually required, therefore, there is very litte wasted energy. This means better fuel economy and a cooler operating hydraulic system, Pressure compensated system: A pressure compensated hydraulic system allows ‘smooth machine operation during multi- functioning. A pressure compensated system Prevents excessive hydraulic oil flow to low pressure functions.
