‘Track Drive Charge Pressure Filters Figure 6-6 Track Drive Charge Pressure Filter ‘Track Drive Charge Pressure Bypass Figure 6-7 Track Drive Charge Pressure Bypass Warning Track Drive Charge Pressure Relief Valve Track Drive Pump Charge Pressure ‘A gear charge pump is mounted on the rear of ‘each track drive pump. The charge pump rot from the tank to a filter mounted on the pump (See Figure 6-6). NOTE: A warming light and buzzer (See Figure 6-7) alerts the operator if a filter begins! bypass from being too dirty or from cold oll forced through it. The track drives will not of until the fiter is changed or the oil is allowed! warm up properly. Charge pressure is controlled by a 375 psi relief valve mounted on the hydraulic tank support ( Figure 6-8) and made available to the hydrost loop through two check valves; one for each direction of output. The charge oil is used as make-up oil in the low pressure leg of the hydrostatic loop and also as. pilot pressure to the control the pump's stroking piston. Unused oil flows through the pump’s cas for cooling and then drains back to tank. ‘Track drive pump charge pressure checks are made at test port located on the pressure reduce valve mounted on the hydraulic tank support. ‘See Page 9-3 for test and adjustment procedure. The Hydrostatic Loop The hydrostatic loop is a closed circuit of oil. Closed circuit means the return line from the trac motor (low pressure leg) feeds the suction port g the track drive pump (outputs to the high pressur leg). This is reversed when the tracks move in th opposite direction. Charge oil is required to keep the system charge and replenished with cool oil. The direction of charge oil fiow is controlled by dual check valves High pressure oil is contained within the high pressure leg while the low pressure leg is fed charge oil through the check valves. In the opposite direction of travel, the oil flow is reverse When a given amount of oll is forced out of the track drive pump, the track motor must tum at given speed. An increase in the flow of oil throu the hydrostatic loop will result in increased track speed Figure 6-8 Track Drive Charge Pressure Relief Valve ahh
