Context:
The Timber Products and Furniture Technologies manufacturing sector contains a
diverse array of producers. These producers vary not only in what they produce, but
also in how they achieve this. Different producers choose to service different market
sub-sectors, and therefore this means that there is not a singular approach which
can be used to produce goods and bring them to the consumer. Hence it is important
that you have a broad understanding of this industry sector should you choose to
seek out a career path within.
Task description:
After the completion of the in class online comparative study activities you are
required to undertake a case study / research project into a case study of the
industry focus area. In this case the industry focus area is the Timber Products and
Furniture Technologies sector.

You may choose to visit industry to assist your research
Submit a draft version of your assignment on the 8th of March for
formative feedback
Use this feedback to improve and refine your final report
Task requirements:
1. Participate in class learning and complete the activates through the online
comparative study
2. Adhere to the lesson schedule for the comparative study
3. Undertake research of the Timber Products and Furniture Technologies
industry
a. You are required to draw your research from a broad variety of sources
across the industry
4. Follow the headings in the Industry Study Activities document to guide your
investigations
5. Utilise the class time allocated to you to work on your case study
6. Present your findings in the form of a report document (Word)
7. Use appropriate reporting language and sentence structure
8. Submit a draft of your report for feedback on 8th of March
9. Review your feedback and adjust your report as required
10.Submit your report on the Due date: 15th March on a USB
11.Retain your proof of submission slip signed by the teacher
