TheSustainableDevelopmentGoals(SDGs)areanew,universalsetofgoals,targetsandindicatorsthatUN
memberstateswillbeexpectedtousetoframetheiragendasandpoliticalpoliciesoverthenext15years.The
SustainableDevelopmentGoals(SDGs)followandexpandonthemillenniumdevelopmentgoals(MDGs),which
areduetoexpireattheendof2015.

TheSustainableDevelopmentGoals(SDGs),areofficiallyknownasTransformingourworld:the2030
AgendaforSustainableDevelopment.Thereare17SustainableDevelopmentGoals,associated169targets
and304indicators.Thisincludedthefollowinggoals:

1.Endpovertyinallitsformseverywhere
2.Endhunger,achievefoodsecurityandimprovednutritionandpromotesustainableagriculture
3.Ensurehealthylivesandpromotewellbeingforallatallages
4.Ensureinclusiveandequitablequalityeducationandpromotelifelonglearningopportunitiesforall
5.Achievegenderequalityandempowerallwomenandgirls
6.Ensureavailabilityandsustainablemanagementofwaterandsanitationforall
