About us
The company MERCI, s.r.o. (Ltd.)

MERCI, s.r.o. (Ltd.) is a production-and-trade company that employs 70 to 80 people.
The companys scope of activities include design, manufacturing, provision and
delivery of laboratories and chemical facilities to science and research institutions,
colleges and universities, chemical and pharmaceutical industry and healthcare, and
the provision of control and service laboratories for all kinds of business sectors.
The companys manufacturing activities are linked to research and develop-

ment activities that result in the introduction of new products and
technologies to the companys product portfolio.
As far as design and projecting of laboratory facilities are concerned, the compa-
ny is known for its complex approach towards laboratory projects that
already include furniture, exhaust hoods, necessary laboratory tech-
nologies plus recommended methodologies and procedures, instrumen-
tation and the subsequent provision and delivery of consumable supplies.
The MERCI, s.r.o. (Ltd.) company has been a provider of laboratory

equipment since 1993. Every year the company handles several hundred
successful projects of all sizes and of various levels of significance. Further-
more, it provides professional sales services to more than 2,000 cli-
ents. These services include sales and consultancy services. They are provided
by experienced employees who must have knowledge of, and experience from,
various business fields. The company is also an authorised service provider with
respect to the equipment and technologies the company provides.
A key milestone was the companys decision to manufacture its own brand of
special-purpose laboratory furniture, including exhaust hoods and wall units.
Since 2004 the company has been manufacturing these components
in its own factory building and it even has its own design depart-
ment whose role is to prepare manufacturing processes and to deal
with research and development of new products that reflect todays
needs and demand for working conditions in all types of laboratories, as well
as products that support the investors eorts to establish flexible, modern and
energy-saving facilities.
For several years now, the company has focused on the development of a mod-
ern and energy-saving exhaust hood. The company operates its own design
centre for the purpose of design activities and technology projects. Its assets
include a team of trained experts in a broad scope of laboratory-related
issues. The company cooperates with hundreds of manufacturers of special-
purpose laboratory equipment and pilot equipment, as well as with numerous
specialised Czech and foreign contractors.
The company enjoys a strong position on the Czech and Slovak markets and
it also attempts to succeed on foreign markets, in order to exploit its exten-
sive knowledge and expertise. Its unique approach and high level of expertise
and maximum complexity have won the company most major projects in the
respective business sector. Out of hundreds of references the company espe-
cially values the provision of equipment for laboratories of the Masa-
ryk University campus in Brno or for the University of Pardubice
campus; the provision of laboratory equipment for the 1st Faculty
of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, or equipment for the
laboratories of the Znojmo hospital, or equipment for service and control
laboratories (and the related harmonised methodologies) for the Hills com-
pany in Hustopee, etc.
The activities of the MERCI s.r.o. company are based on extensive knowledge,
the ability to solve complex issues as a team and to absorb new trends
from the area of laboratory technologies.

LABORATORY AND OFFICE FURNITURE

Represents a standard series of furniture for complex, modern and highly functional equipment of laboratories, preparatory rooms, expert classrooms, oces and
cloak-rooms. The oer is supplemented with atypical modules and special laboratory products such as specialized work tables, degustation boxes or table exhausting
systems.
The MODULES are designed as a constructional set of a basic length of 150 mm (possible range from 450 to 900 mm). We oer atypical sizes of a furniture ac-
cording to particular space dispositions.
A STANDARD HEIGHT OF WORKING AREA is 750 mm for work in sitting position and 900 mm in standing position (according to ergonomic criteria).
STANDARD VERSION of furniture includes 18 mm laminated wood particle board, the corpus with an attached ABS 0.5 mm edge, the back wall one side painted
wood fibre-board.
Doors are fixed on nickel-coated, self-closing hinges, which are removable without screwing, with an attached ABS 2 mm edge, maximal opening angle is110.
Doors and drawers are provided with damping stop pad.
Shelves with adjustable height, with support foot preventing from accidental extrusion of shelves.
Chromed clamps in the U shape, spacing 160 mm and 96 mm (on the doors and shelves).
Laboratory furniture is provided with grey adjustable feet.
Oce furniture stands on the fix pedestal.
LABORATORY
Following NON-STANDARD VERSIONS of furniture are available:

- plastic pedestal, white, black or metal (stainless steel) colour
- pedestal of the same colour as laminate, damp-proof
- door opening angle up to the 270
- painted surface of door hinges (higher resistance).
Following variations of LOCKS are available: for one drawer, a central lock of all drawers, for wooden and glass doors. Particular types of lock and their location
will be specified according to customer.
COLOUR VERSIONS OF LABORATORY AND OFFICE FURNITURE can be selected more than 50 colours for laminated boards, more than 60 colours for the
ABS door edges, and more than 30 colours for postforming boards.
Colour versions of laminated boards is divided into two price categories:
1. standard version (catalogue prices)
(an example of the basic laminate sampler see page 110: 1700 grey/1)
2. non-standard version
(an example of the basic laminate sampler see page 110: 574 ivory/2).
COLOUR VERSIONS OF FUME CUPBOARDS AND STEEL CONSTRUCTIONS can be selected according to basic RAL scale. The colour versions are divided
into two price categories:
1. standard version: white RAL 9010, grey RAL 7035.
2. non-standard colour version: other RAL scale colours.
MEDIA (electricity, water and gas) are localized in the switchboards, which are made of laminated particleboard of metal.
Construction system allows comfortable access to electricity, water and gas, and their eventual modifications. Water-proof switchboards, protected by white resin
layer (6 mm thick).
LABORATORY
LABORATORY TABLES SURFACES are made of following materials: postforming, acid-resistant glued tiles, synthetic stone, AISI 316 stainless steel plate, epoxy
resin (DURCON), ceramics, high-pressure laminate (Max, Trespa), polypropylene, hardened enamel glass. A table with described characteristics of these materials is
on page 61.
COMPATIBILITY of all furniture parts is guaranted.
HEALTH AND HYGIENIC CRITERIA AND MECHANICAL RESISTANCE of the furniture are verified according to latest European standards and
provided with related certificates see page 7.

includes following items: tightness and status of connection of exhausting system, alarm function,
exhausting system slot cleaning, inner control of corpus of fume cupboard, tightness of the vent
olivettes, exchange of pendent string of the window and of seal of the working area of the fume
cupboard.

depth 620, height 1200 mm. The worktop is 900 mm. above the floor.
The mantl is made of 1.5 mm thick steel sheet; surface is epoxy painted accord-
ing to the RAL scale coating made with resin layer according to the RAL scale

Front window in the frame is vertically sliding, glassed with a two-part safety glass
horizontally sliding in the frame

connected to the drain.

mented with cassettes containing exit in inner space of the fume cupboard on the
le side. Maximum of vents is 2x water, 4x gas. The right side serves for electric
sockets (maximally 8). Inner electric distribution is separated from the gas and
liquid media. Particular selection of media depends on the users demand. 4

hausts all gases and vapours, the total air flow inside of the fume cupboard en-

Exhaust fan is not a part of the standard fume cupboard.

1 FUME CUPBOARD M - BASIC VERSION

The basic version of the fume cupboard includes metal corpus, electric system with a panel of 4 sockets (230 V) with protective covers preventing damp and pol-
lution, fluorescent tubes (18 W) with a protective cover of Perspex (in the upper part of the fume cupboard), and in the right panel switch of lights and exhausting
system. A fan is not part of the standard fume cupboard. It is necessary to choose an appropriate worktop and it is possible to add inner fittings according to request
(electricity, water, gas) and other options.

Alarm AFM2
Is a unit for monitoring of air-flow set up according to required safety parameters. When the air-flow
decreases or exceedes required optimal values, the operator is warned by audiovisual signal. This unit
is required by the SN EN 14 175.
4 INTERNAL FUME CUPBOARD LINING

In the case of manipulation with aggressive chemicals, concentrated and fuming acids, heating of
acids or vaporizing of compounds it is recommended to cover the working area with inert surface
material. Handling hydrofluoric acid (HF) requires a special polypropylene surface due to reactivity of
HF with silicates containing materials.

5 FUME CUPBOARD UNDERBENCH CABINETS

The space under the fume cupboard worktop can be le free or cabinet for laboratory material and chemicals and safety cabinets can be placed there. In the case of
storage of alkalis and acids it is necessary to ensure constant exhaustion of a cabinet, which should fulfill for 900 mm wide cabinet 14 m3 per hour, and for 1200 mm
cabinets the exhaustion is 18 m3 per hour.

A two-door laminate cabinet on adjustable feet (length 100 mm), with one inside shelf, In the bottom
part of door is a suction plastic grid and in the upper part of the back it has a plastic chimney (length 75
mm ). The cabinet has to be connected to permanent exhausting system with a diameter 75 mm. It is

Safety Cabinet for Inflammables

Two-door, provided with a double steel mantle and with thermoisolation, which ensures inner temperature
not exceeds 200C for at least 90 min. Cabinet has to be connected to exhausting system with a diameter
75 mm. Exhaust fan is not a part of the standard fume cupboard. The cabinet is made according to EN
14 470.

6 M FUME CUPBOARDS EXHAUSTING SYSTEM

SOLUTION
Exhausting system is not a part of standard fume cupboard. Its installation can be suggested only aer
evaluation of current conditions in the laboratory, in the entire building, and possible location of exhaust
fan. Connection between fume cupboard and current exhausting system via flexible hose-pipe is also
possible and the instalation project will be realized individually on customers request.
Exhaust fan should have not only a sucient capacity but also required quality such as chemical resist-
ance to aggressive acids, explosives and volatile agents.

0,3 m/s speed is a minimal recommended speed on the window level.

0,4 m/s speed is a minimal recommended speed on the window level according to SN EN 14
175 and SN 12469.

togens, carcinogens etc.
The minimal recommended capacity of exhaust fan is determined by the character of work and by
requirements intensity of exhaustion and chemical evaporation.
It is possible to change air flow speed using frequency converter.
Exhaust system output pressure loss should be calculated into the project, especially with respect to
required values in exit chimney of the fume cupboard. The chimney should have diameter of 250 mm.
The fume cupboard equipment, all non-standard surfaces and modifications may also aect the level
of pressure losses.
For the right function of fume cupboard is necessary to ensure supply the same volume of the air into
the room as it is exhausted by exhausting system and itself from the room. This is dependent on the
capacity of the exhaust fan. It is recommended to adjust the temperature, purity and humidity of sup-
plied air. The air flow should be increased by 30 % in the case of low exhausting of heavy gas.
When the fume cupboard is provided with a bottom cabinet for stowing chemicals with the preparation
for an exhausting system without its own fan, a permanent exhaustion of the bottom cabinet needs
to be ensured with a recommended capacity according to the type used and the cabinet size, capacity
from 4m3 per hour to 18 m3 per hour. The exhausted cabinets connecting pipe diameter is 75 mm.

7 FUME CUPBOARDS ACCESSORIES
Stainless Steel Internal Grids

Stainless steel grids mounted to the back wall are provided to fix the apparatus, instruments or an-
other devices in the inner space of fume cupboard. The grid can be temporarily removed, the number
of vertical and horizontal poles is optional as well as loading limit. Parameters and specification of the
grid should be included into the project since the subsequent and additional anchoring of grid is not
possible.
Built-in Heating Plate

Glass-ceramic heating plate mounted into the worktop of the fume cupboard is controlled via outer
knobs located either under the worktop or on the side panel. Full-area heated heating plates of the
EB and EB-R series have capacity from 2 kW to 5.7 kW and temperature range from +50C to +500C
improve working comfort, and spare the working space.
Fume Cupboard for Explosive Environment

The elaboration of PROTOCOL ON DETERMINING OF EXTERNAL EFFECTS ACCORDING TO SN
332000-3, which we are able to arrange based on customers demand, is recommended in the case
of planned work with inflammable and explosive agents.
This protocol defines the environment of the fume cupboard, the description of activities and used
technological approach and precautions necessary for the fume cupboard and exhausting system in-
stallation and running.
Based on this protocol all required safety modifications verified by authorized and certificated technical
assistant are provided by the company.
This arrangement is possible only for the fume cupboard of type M.

Heavy Gas)
Special fume cupboard with low exhausting system is oered for working with heavy gas such as Br2,
which are exhausted by a typical top exhausting system with a low eect, we oer a special fume
cupboard variant with bottom exhaustion.

Filtration
Mechanical retaining filters for solid particles or absorption filters for chemical substances are oered
in the case of required cleaning of the air leaving the fume cupboard. A filtration box is attached to
the pipeline (250 mm in diameter) and allows use a variety of filters. Type of the particular filter is de-
termined by the amount of filtered compounds in time interval, their characteristics and filter cleaning
capacity (long lasting). The capacity of filters and life-time are limited, our company provides optimal
technical and financial suggestion.
Gas Scrubber
Absorption of gas into water fog (or water solution) or driving of gas into water reservoir is possible to
use in order to remove vapors (e.g. acid vapours) or solid particles from cleaned air.
In the case of acid vapours the measurement of the acid concentration in water is performed and aer
the limit concentration is reached, the neutralizing substance is applied and neutralized solution can
be released into drainage. The system is then automatically filled with a new absorption liquid (in most
cases with water) and the process continues.
Dierent levels of system automation control can be suggested according to customers request.

N Fume Cupboard
Fume cupboard N allows its connection to any exhausting system and its MaR control unit.
This enables using information from the fume cupboard to regulate capacity of all components and
activities of exhausting system such as heating, exhausting and in some cases also regulation and
filtration of incoming air. The latest one represents frequently omitted activity associated with the
highest expenses.
These fume cupboards in standard version equipped with an electrical control of safety window are
able to communicate with MaR control unit, which is mediated by monitoring of position of safety
window and signals leading to decrease or increase of capacity of air conditioning in accordance to all
requirements (air flow speed, required concentration of dangers substances in the cupboard).
In practice, the control unit increases your safety and lowers expenses for the air exchange (for in-
stance if You forget to close the safety window when leaving the room, MaR control unit detects it and
immediately decreases the level of exhaustion).
In addition, optical crossbar at the bottom of the window will prevent you from accidental injury and
also protect Your instruments, machines and experiments if they hit the moving window (which is
automatically stopped).
Supporting construction is made from profiled steel plate with electrostatically applied epoxy enamel
and supplemented with parts from resistant materials such as a PP exhaustion part, nylon connecting
elements etc.
Types of surfaces, their modifications, vents, grids or cabinets are oered as in the above mentioned
M fume cupboards
Fume cupboard N in standard version is implemented with 6 outer and two inner electric
sockets with covers. Installation of 400 V socket with safety element is possible. A higher intensity of
lights inside the cupboard is provided (36 W).
The fume cupboard N has a certificate according to the SN EN 14175, and CE

certificate according to the 2006/95/ES and 2004/108/ES.

The fume cupboard worktop has the following dimensions:

width 1070 (1370, 1670, 1970), depth 840 mm.
The selection of worktop type depends on the users request and on all currently available surfaces.
In the case of implementation by water vent or sink, the waste sink (125x300 mm) is connected to
the drain, which can be ceramic or polypropylene (according to working surface used). Liquid and gas
media are distributed in the right column. Cassette construction system allows a variety of number and
types of fittings. Maximal number of vents is 6 pcs and one waste sink (125x300 mm).

N fume cupboards allow surface modification (with possibility of chemical stainless steel or
safety window) due to regular inner space lacking protrusions and in addition, to install larger instru-
ments (up to 600x600 mm size), stainless steel grids, washing sinks etc.
This type of fume cupboards can be supplied with low exhausting system for work with heavy gas (Br2);
which is a part of basic variant of fume cupboard.

In fume cupboard with the manual window control, customer can select a control unit A or B (see
page 23) and implement them with other functions. In fume cupboard with the electric window, type
C control unit is oered of the highest level in standard version of cupboard (see page 23), including
electric window control.

Additional function of control unit B and C is monitoring of air-flow in the fume cupboard according to
required limits - ALARM.
ALARM if air-flow decreases or exceeds optimal values, operators are warned by not only sound and

N FUME CUPBOARD INSIDE LINING

In the case of manipulation with very aggressive chemicals (cold or heated acid solutions, vaporiz-
ing substances) the protection of inner surface of the cupboard with inert material is recommended.
Handling hydrofluoric acid (HF) requires a special polypropylene surface due to reactivity of HF with
silicates containing materials. Please, remind that polypropylene is not suitable for working under in-
creased temperatures.

The space under the fume cupboard worktop can be le free or cabinets for laboratory dry material
and chemicals (working tools, machines and instruments, glass etc.) and safety cabinets (for danger-
ous chemicals, alkalis and acids, inflammables) can be placed there. According to used substances it is
necessary to choose a suitable cabinet:

Table fume cupboard is suitable mainly for chemistry and physics classrooms but a version with full back can be found used also in a common laboratory (for exam-
ple for placing instruments requiring an exhaustion of vapours and gases). It allows work with diluted alkalis and acids (except hydrofluoric acid), manipulation with
volatile and odoriferous agents, heating of substances with gas burner. Its advantage consists mainly in especially low space demands and easy installation.
The fume cupboard usually stands on two-door 750 mm tall cabinet, which ensures ergonomical height of cupboard worktop of 900 mm. In standard version it is
provided by one gas and water vent, waste sink with strainer, two electric sockets (230 V), one switch and fluorescent tube (18 W) and exhaust fan (tube and exhaust
fan are switched on simultaneously).
Maximal open height of safety window is 500 mm and thickness of the window glass of 4.4 mm ensuring the protection of students eyes (according to SN EN
14 175). The worktop surface can be made of HDL high-pressure laminate (Trespa) material or epoxy resin (Durcon) in standard grey colour. The cupboard case is
made of steel sheets (4.4 mm thick) covered with electrostatically applied epoxy enamel in basic grey colour (RAL colour also available). The worktop is provided with
higher margins preventing liquid overflow. Cupboard has a exhaust fan for eective exhaustion of all vapours. Draining ledge on the top of back wall of the cupboard
back wall is used for condensates capture.

1 Local Exhausting System Ideal Solution for the Exhaustion of

Fumes, Gases and Vapours
The aim of this instrument is application of new modern criteria of quality of working environment
without any intervention into disposition of laboratory, current working places and material flow.
Local exhaustion improves weighing and aliquoting, work with hazardous agents and protection of
products against contamination.
Particular configuration will be created due to Your requirements.

Local exhausting system can be connected to:

The arms of exhaustion unit can be mounted directly into a worktop, media columns or hang on the
wall (or on ceiling), they are flexible in all directions and easily positioned. Dismantling and cleaning is
very easy.
2 Special Exhausting System Grid with Bottom Exhaustion

A grid with bottom exhaustion can be integrated directly into the worktop. It has high eciency of
capture of heavy vapours from glues, solution agents and similar substances. It is made of high quality
stainless steel resistant to the majority of chemical substances.
3 Exhaustion Box wall-mounted or hang in space 4

Dimensions according to request of customer, it is made of steel, diameter of chimney is 110 mm,
exhaust fan is not a part of standard version.
4 Exhaustion Box Free standing or Wall-mounted

This configuration has more simplified construction suitable for working areas without need of accredi-
tation and certificates. Nevertheless, the safety elements such as safety window with vertical shi,
covered sockets and lights are retained.
Construction is metal in combination with cylindric components and steel sheet covered with electro-
statically applied epoxy resin layer. Diameter of chimney can be 110 or 150 mm.
Two standard versions are oered:
front part and safety window transparent, glass; other parts and ceiling non-transparent,
metal plate. Light fixed on ceiling is protected with cover from polycarbonate. 4
front part and safety window, sides and back walls transparent, glass; other parts and
ceiling non-transparent, metal plate.
Lights can be placed in both of versions, ceiling is always metal and width is limited to 1400 mm, how-
ever, various combinations of glass and metal are available in other parts of the system. Worktop and
exhaust fan are not a part of standard versions, they can be supplemented based on request.

Together with fume cupboards represent the most important laboratory equipment. Particular components of final configuration should be selected carefully, there-
fore the detailed scheme of individual components is on this page.
1 page 51 Under worktop space can be according to customer implemented with cabinets (larger storage space) or steel constructions combined
with containers. The cabinets are made of 18 mm thick laminated wood particle boards , the back of the cabinet is one-sided, made of
painted wood-fibre board. The doors and drawers fronts with fixed 2 mm edge made of ABS material (the cabinet body edges of ABS 0.5
mm). The cabinet has one shelf.
Door fixed on nickel-coated hinges removable without screwing maximal open angle up to 110.
Door opening (a sign at the end of the cabinet type):
L le (hinges on the le side of the cabinet corpus)
P right (hinges on the right side of the cabinet corpus)
Z sliding doors
Doors can be implemented with hinges allowing open angle up to 170 or 270. Slides for drawers metal, self-closing with long life-time.
Standard cabinets version stands on adjustable plastic feet (100 mm).
Other possibilities: on a fix pedestal. Is not recommended for laboratory. In the case of an accident,
there is danger of soaking up
laminated pedestal protected against humidity, advantage of this version the
pedestal is of the same colour as the cabinet.

Chromed clamps in U-shape, spacing 160 mm, clamps can be provided in the komaxit variant in the RAL colour scale (combined with the
colour 2 mm thick ABS edge) or in the variant according to he customers request. Both doors and drawers have damping stop pad.

The steel construction serves as a supporting component of the worktop. It is C-shape profiled with adjustable feet, dimensions 50 x 30 mm, covered with an elec-
trostatically applied epoxy resin layer (colours according to the RAL scale). There are two heights of worktop: 750 mm for work in sitting position and 900 mm for
work in standing position and two possible worktop depths (60 and 750 mm). Side foot is reinforced.

according to the RAL scale). Construction PSP has adjustable feet, construction PSPK has bantam wheels. Lower shelf is made of laminated wood particle board
(other material on request). For these two types of construction is recommended only worktop of 900 mm height for work in standing positions, two worktop depths
(60 and 750 mm) are possible.

7 Laboratory Tables Worktop Extenders

Worktop extenders are designed to place media liquid or gas, electricity above worktop, where they
are easily accessible. A wide variety of service cells acording to customers are oered.
Laminated Service Cells

Represent basic module allowing sucient variability of connections of gas and electricity. These serv-
ice cells are placed on worktop. Three variations are available:
1 - tunnel low version without shelf
2 - with one upper shelf
3 with 2 shelves
They are designed for one-sided table (depth 150 mm) and two-sided table (depth 300 mm). They are
made of DTD-L fixed to worktop with pad covered with epoxy resin. Individual service columns may
contain gas vents (maximum 3x), electric sockets with covers (230 V and 400 V, maximum 4x), low-
voltage sockets (12-48 V). It is not possible to install faucets directly in service cell, but You can use
worktop rack faucets.

Metal Service Cells Model M

Are compatible with fume cupboards M. They are designed for light loads such as in physical
laboratories and also for heavy chemical loads such as in analytical laboratories. Connection of liquid,
gas and electricity is possible. They are produced in two versions:
- standing on the ground self-supporting contruction on the ground
- standing on the worktop construction is fixed on the laboratory table.
They are made from 1.5 mm thick steel sheet covered with electrostatically applied epoxy resin layer.
Metal service cells M standing on the ground

Allow high level of loading and installation of sink (125x300 mm) and addition of media such as water,
natural and technical gas, electric sockets (230, 400 V), low-voltage sockets (12-48 V), LAN sockets.
Individual service collumns are interconnected with shelves in three variations:
- one 150 mm deep shelf, placed in 1320 or 1620 mm above the floor
- two 150 mm deep shelves, placed in 1320 and 1620 mm above the floor
- one lower 150 mm deep shelf placed in 1320 mm above floor and one upper 300 mm deep shelf in
1620 mm above the floor.
All these variations are available in two worktop heights (i.e. 750 and 900 mm). Stacker plate is made
of hardened glass with high chemical resistance. Under upper shelf is possible to place lights. Media
that can be installed into the construction: 16x 260 V sockets or 8x gas vent or 2x water vent or 2x 400
V socket (without shelf in 1320 mm above the floor).

Metal Service Cells M Standing on the Worktop
This type of extender leave the whole area of the worktop free for work. Waste sink (size 125x125 or
125x300 mm) can be installed on the le or on the right side of worktop. Possible installed media: wa-
ter, natural and technical gas, electric sockets (230, 400 V), low-voltage sockets (12-48 V), LAN sockets.
Individual service columns are interconnected with shelves in two variations:
- two 150 mm deep shelves, placed in 420 and 720 mm above the floor
- one lower 150 mm deep shelf placed in 420 mm above floor and one upper 300 mm deep shelf in
All these variations are available for both of two worktop heights (i.e. 750 and 900 mm). Stacker plate
is made of hardened glass with high chemical resistance.
Lights can be placed under upper shelf. Possible installed media: 16x 260 V sockets or 8x gas vent or
2x water vent or 2x 400 V socket (installed out of worktop).

Cleanrooms Equipment
Cleanrooms equipment has to meet all requirements (surfaces cleaning, use of suitable materials etc.).
Cleanrooms of category D, eventually C should have specially equipment of personal and material pass-
trough chambers (wardrobes and storage cabinets, over step benches, cabinet with built-in stainless
steel bowl). Material health harmless (e.g. DTD boards coated with melamine) with ABS dust-proof
edges, all joints stued with silicone.
Other equipment for changing rooms:

- clothes-baskets (plastic containers) for used clothes, over shoes and hygiene masks

Cabinets and cabinet extenders are made of 18 mm thick laminated wood particle boards, the back of the cabinet is one-sided, made of
painted wood-fibre board. The doors and front-sides of drawers have 2 mm edge made of ABS material (the cabinet body has edges of ABS
0.5 mm). The cabinet has one shelf.
Door fixed on nickel-coated hinges removable without screwing maximal opening angle up to 110.
Door opening (a sign at the end of the cabinet type):
L le (hinges on the le side of the cabinet corpus)
P right (hinges on the right side of the cabinet corpus)
Z sliding doors
Doors can be implemented with hinges allowing opening angle up to 170 or 270. Slides for drawers metal, self-closing with long life-time.
Standard cabinet versions stand on plastic feet (100 mm), their height is adjustable.

laminated pedestal with humidity protection
plastic pedestal possible colours black, white, metal (stainless steel).
Chromed clamps in U-shape, spacing 160 mm, clamps can be provided in the RAL colour scale. Both doors and drawers have damping stop

Safety is without a doubt the most essential that everyone should take into account when working with dangerous substances; sadly, we realize its importance when
it is too late. Everyone is obliged to protect their own health, the health of other people.
All dangerous substances need to be handled with the highest cautiousness and that is why they also must be safely stored.
Combustibles: Fire protection is ensured by closing combustibles inside safety cabinets made according to the EN 14470-1 requirements, with the GS testimonial
and the CE certificate, fire resistance properties are stated in minutes on the doors of the cabinets. These cabinets can have various door types (swing, folding), their
opening is mechanical, semi-automatic or fully-automatic (sensor). Their inner equipment is variable shelves with a sink or with pull-out shelves. To oer you an
appropriate cabinet we need to know properties of used substances, their amount and cabinet location. According to this information we can propose you correct
solution for combustibles storage. These cabinets have to be connected to an exhausting system flexible hosepipe diameter is 75 mm.
Gas Cylinders: Fire protection is ensured by closing gas cylinders inside safety cabinets made according to the EN 14470-1 requirements, with the GS testimonial

Are special cabinets made of acid-resistant polypropylene, with one or two doors, draw-out polypropylene collecting sump (maximum of load 30 kg). Two versions are

3.1 Safety Cabinets Asecos
The Merci company is the authorised supplier of safety cabinets produced by German company Asecos. Merci also oers the installation of these cabinets, their
connection to the air-conditioning and annual servis controls. The ASECOS safety cabinets are designed for storage of liquid and solid inflammables according to EN
14470-1. These high quality cabinets are available in many heights and widhts with wide equipment range. They fulfil Certificate of fire resistance AO 216 issued
by the authorized company PAVUS, a.s. Versions can be modified on request.
The cabinets have double steel case thermoisolation, which ensures that inner temperature not exceeds 200C for at least 90 min. The doors are provided with safety
fuse activating their immediate hydraulic closing. The connections to exhausting system will be closed simultaneously. Time of fire resistance depends on type of
cabinet, it can be 90, 60, 30 or 15 min. The edges of the door and joining of the cabinet are coated with thermosensitive material, which increases its volume with
increasing temperature and thereby seals the joining.
Two basic versions of cabinets are available:
Tall cabinets one or two-door variant, height of 1968 or 1298 mm; witdth of 600, 900, 1100 and 1200 mm. The variant high 2225 mm and wide 1105 or 1555
mm is also available. They have inner shelves or draw-out basins and safety collecting sump covered with perforated steel-sheet. Combinations of variations are
possible, in the case of 1200 mm wide cabinet the combination of shelves, draw-out drawers in one- half and equipment for storage of pressure cylinders in the
second half of the cabinet.
Low cabinets can be placed under fume cupboard or laboratory table, they have door or draw-out drawer; witdth of 592, 890, 1100 or 1400 mm; depth of 570 or
550 mm, standard height of 600 mm (can be increased with 30 mm or 65 mm pedestal). Permanent exhaustion is recommended, or there can be installed filtration
unit directly on the cabinet.
Mobile cabinets with wheels are available.
The air-conditioning is connected to the back side of the cabinet.

Metal cabinets for alkalis and acids

Are designed for safe storage of alkalis and acids. The outer case is made of steel plate coated with
epoxy-resin, the innner space is hermetically closed and tiled with special, highly resistant hardened
plates. The doors can be open up to angle of 90 and they are provided with cylindrical lock. Drawers have
loading limit of 25 kg. Permanent exhausting is necessary, exhausting chimneys are placed either on the
top of cabinet in tall version or on back side in low version.

The combined cabinets are designed for common storage of inflammables, acids and alkalis in one
cabinet with single exhausting chimney (diameter 75 mm). The le part is used for storage of inflam-
mables, time of fire-resistance is 90 min. Cabinet is made according to DIN EN 14470-1. This product
is provided with door automatically closing without external electric power supply. The doors close
automatically in 60 seconds aer being opened. The doors have cylindric lock. In the case of fire, the
doors will close automatically (safety fuse). Inner space is equipped with fixed or draw-out shelves (five
or four). The right part is used for storage of alkalis and acids, it is made of highly resistant plates
coated with melamine, and it contains four or six draw-out shelves with plastic withdrawable basins.

Are made according to requirements of TRbF 20 No. 5 and DIN EN 14470-1, which do not allow the
storage of hazardous compounds in working rooms with exception of necessary amount stored in ap-
propriate cabinets. These standards have to be followed by all EU member states. Dperthal safety
cabinets are made of the epoxy painted sheetmetal. Doors are painted with yellow (RAL 1018) and
inner surface with grey colour (RAL 7035). The cabinets were tested in the fire chamber according to
DIN 14470-1.

folding door, opened with pneumatic foot pedal under the cabinet. Inner air-flow is ensured in all height levels of the cabinet. The doors open easily, it is not necessary to
hold opened door arresting mechanism is available.
The inner shelves are basin-shaped, with adjustable height in 32 mm steps, made of painted stainless steel or stainless steel (on request). All safety cabinets stand on
fix pedestal of 85 mm height, which is equipped with locking screws.

Stainless Steel Products

Stainless steel products of the MERCI company are made of a high quality stainless steel according to SN 17 241 - AISI 304 (food stainless steel) and 316 (chemi-
cal stainless steel).
Stainless steel products can satisfy clients high expectations only if the safety precautions are followed. Steel sheets used for manufacture are fully stainless in its
overall section. Technique used for combining these sheets is called eusion heating up the particular edges and combining them or soldering them at high tem-
perature using stainless steel wires. Thus, the presence of other than stainless steel material is acknowledged. However, it is important to remember that stainless
steel is spongy and hence prone to capturing dirt.
The disadvantage of spongy character is reduced by polishing, which increases the endurance of the surface. The persistence of the surface is increased by common
maintenance using suitable detergents. It is essential to protect stainless steel products against scratching.
