Course Numbers
The University uses a four-digit numbering system for all courses. The first digit indicates the level of the course: 1 for freshmen
courses, 2 for sophomore courses, 3 for junior courses and 4 for senior courses; 5 and 6 indicate graduate courses, and 7 indicates
doctoral courses. The second digit indicates the semester-hour value of the course. The last two digits indicate the location of the
course in the departmental sequence. English 2310, for example, is a sophomore-level course with a value of three semester hours.
The first four digits in course number represent individual courses. When a fifth digit is used, it represents an area of concentration
within a more general course, and is intended to provide a more accurate transcript of a students work in a course.
Repeated Courses
The notation E (Exclude) is listed on the first course taken and indicates that the course was repeated at a later date. The grade
with this notation has been removed from the GPA calculations.
The notation I (Include) is listed on any consecutive course taken and the grade with this notation is included in the GPA
calculations.
Academic Standing
The student is in good academic standing unless there is a statement to the contrary on this record.
