Earlier last Tuesday, the
mayor, together with HSDO
Head Engr. Rolly Campillos,
GNP Head Eric Salvino and
Urban Poor Federation Ofice
Pres. Danilo Ludovice received
last Tuesday in Quezon City the
Natatanging Lingkod Maralita
Award given by the Presiden-
tial Commission for the Urban
Poor (PCUP).
The city government of
Naga is known for its pro-poor
programs like Kaantabay sa
Kauswagan (started during the
time of former Mayor and Sec.
Jesse Robredo and sustained
to this day) and the newest in-
novative poverty alleviation
initiative called Ginhawang
Nagueo Program (GNP)
launched in 2014. The program
addresses poverty, health, nutri-
tion, sanitation, education and
housing issues, to give dignity
to urban poor families.
The citys efficient Business
One Stop Shop (BOSS) report-
edly contributed to the city
earning the Blue Certification,
making Naga to be the fifth
city to receive the award, with
scores leading ahead of Manila
and Quezon City.
The BOSS, with its three-
step process for the business
owners, has been noted to be
handled well by the city.
With the Level 1 certifica-
tion, the city is set to improve
still the business permit release
and renewal processes of the
BOSS program, that will make
it climb to Level 2 Blue Seal
Certification next year.
Allen Reondanga, the Chief-
of-Office of the City Events,
Protocol and Public Informa-
tion Office (CEPPIO), under-
scored that the well-document-
ed programs and policies of the
city, as enforced through legis-
lative measures and executive
orders issuances, gained posi-
tive remarks for Naga.
It is only in Naga wherein
they have seen the citys pro-
grams backed up with execu-
tive orders and ordinances,
making the programs sustain-
able, particularly the BOSS,
stated Reondanga.
The CEO Excel Awards,
on the other hand, is an honor
being given annually by the
International Association of
Business Communicators Phil-
ippines (IABC) to top-level

preparing to file charges
against the two Taiwanese
nationals suspected to be
the operators of the clandes-
tine shabu laboratory that
was raided by the police in
Barangay Palta Small in
Virac, Catanduanes more
than a week ago.
A case of violation of sec-
tion 8 of the Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
(Republic Act 9165), that pe-
nalizes the manufacture of
dangerous drug/and or con-
trolled precursors and essen-
tial chemicals, will be filed
against Taiwanese nationals

Prosecutors Office in Catan-
duanes, Senior Supt. Jeofrey
Fernandez, acting director of
the Catanduanes Provincial
Police Office (PP0), said in

Fernandez said six plastic
containers found with a white
crystalline substance inside
the shabu facility disguised as
a warehouse had tested posi-
tive for methamphetamine

tested positive for shabu
while five round containers
had 360 kilograms of ephed-
rine, that could be deemed
as almost finished products
of shabu.
