    CT pulmonary angiograms are very sensitive and can detect small pulmonary embolisms that may not need treatment. The article discusses how CT scans can find pulmonary embolisms that would likely resolve on their own without treatment. While treating all embolisms found by CT scans, overtreatment occurs.
