CHAPTER III
This chapter presents the discussion on the research design, the sources
of data, the population of the study, the research instrument and the validation of
the research instrument. The data gathering procedure and the statistical
treatment that were applied to analyze the gathered data are also included in

information in order to describe in detail the variables of the study. This study
assessed the perceptions of the first year BSHRM and BSHM students in taking

Sources of Data
This research utilized two sources of data, which were the primary and
secondary sources of data. These were used to find answers to the problems
that were presented. The primary sources of data were the responses of the
Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation Legazpi City for school year 2010-
2011 through the use of prepared questionnaires. The secondary data came from
the records of the library, magazines, journals books, and both published and

family monthly income and school graduated from; 2) The insight of the
subjects enrolled and subject instructor. There were 100 respondents that
were utilized in this study which were composed of the freshmen students
of BSHRM. A survey questionnaire was also used as the main instrument in the
data gathering. The researcher did the distribution and retrieval of the
instrument.
