Muscle System

OBJECTIVE: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe the
Musculoskeletal system and the primary role of muscle.

Instructional Plan:
- Musculoskeletal System is Compose of two Systems:
Muscular System
Skeletal System
- Movement and support are the primary roles of the musculoskeletal
- Made up of hard and soft tissues. Hard tissues include bones and cartilages
while soft tissues are the muscles, tendons, synovial membranes, joints capsule,
and ligaments.
- Muscles cells/fibresproduce contractions that move the body parts, including
internal organs.

Activity and Assessment:

- Distribute handout(s) with basic summary of Muscles.
- Summary includes description of muscles being the largest soft tissue of the
musculoskeletal system.
- Associated with connective tissues binding with muscle fibersfascicles
(bundles)connective tissue which convey nerve fibres and blood vessels to the
muscle cells.
- Administer a brief quiz containing questions covering basic terms and functions
associated with material covered in the presentation
