Standard 5

Title of Meeting: District Meeting 3rd grade

Date 3/9/2017

Attendees: superintendent, elementary principles, and all 3rd grade teachers

Topic: Math criteria

Issue: What standards should he have for the 3rd classes in math including multiplying and
dividing.

Discussion: (who said what about what) can use Teacher #1 to identify

Teacher 1 TI think we should use a grading scale like the middle school of 100-90-80 and so on
to determine where our kids should be at.

Teacher 2. I would agree with that, I believe that because the average is c, 70% should be our
average and we should base them off of that.

(No One opposes)

Superintendent: i would agree with that and by the end of third grade students goals along
with ours should be set for 70% and that will be our standard.

Possible Solutions: using the 100-90-80-70-60 grading scale to determine where kids should be
in math.

Using 1-3-5 grading scale (not used in math)

Voting record: (all 12 teacher and 4 principles for 100-90-80 grading with 70% avg. )

(no teachers for 1-3-5)

Decision: superintendent okay so from here on we will be using the upper level scale for
mathematics in third grade and if we find issues later on we can hold another meeting to
discuss them.

Conclusion: The scale 100-90-80-70-60 will be used for math in third grade with the average of
70 were all kids should be.
