Commuting Students

Williams
January 31, 2017

Emory & Henry College students know the college life is not always easy, and

commuting students are finding this to be especially true. Emory & Henry College currently has

952 undergraduate students, 174 of those are commuters. Interim Dean of Students Kyle

Cutshaw is very aware of the challenges that commuting students face and says the college is

trying to address the time they have to fill in between classes.

We have intentionally added some spaces on campus so that commuters dont have to go back to
their house or their apartment. Weve added spaces in the library, some soft seating there as
well as the new Stingers Caf and the soft seating in the Humphries Room. So we think that
those are good spaces that commuters can utilize.

With commuters making up 20% of the total enrollment, the Emory & Henry College

administration hopes that these new installations will accommodate the commuters conveniently.
