Mystic Treasures

The artwork that I used for my mash up was Breezing Up by Winslow

Homer. The artwork displays a very calm and basic setting. There is no mysterious
factor in the painting. So I decided to add a bit of. mystery to the painting. I have
added a diamond and a treasure chest at the bottom of the sea/ocean to add that
factor to the painting. I added the diamond and the treasure chest to the painting so
that it would make the mind kind of think. If you stare at a very calm, boring
painting that has a diamond floating around and a treasure chest at the bottom of
the sea/ocean, the of course it will make you think about why it might be in the
painting.
I went through many steps to create this mashup. First I took tracing paper
and traced out my drawings on to the paper. Then I took regular drawing paper to
drawing my creation onto the paper. I drew the diamond and treasure chest on the
drawing paper, colored them with prisma colored pencils, using blending ad shading
to get the perfect color. I added texture to the treasure chest to make it seem like it
has been in the sea/ocean for a while. I added some kelp to it and had some pearls
hanging out of the chest. I added multiple colors to the diamond to make it look like
a real diamond.
Breezing Up is an artwork with very intense detail to make the water seem
as if it were very slowly flowing with wind. The strokes of pint used on the water
give it such a calming effect. There a few white spots in the water to make it reflect
the sunshine. The men in the boat seem relaxed, but at the same time very alert.
Their faces have an expression of relief and sternness. The boat itself has an
accurate outline and secure stokes along with the smooth wooden texture. The sails
seem to flow in the wind, as if in unison with the waters relaxed flow. There is
another ship in the background of the painting to add a bit of mystery and
adventure but its very subtle. The sky seems to be very calm adding to the factor
of calmness of the painting.
