BY virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 17 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), I, Maithripala Sirisena,
President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, do by this Order, considering it necessary in the public
interest to do so for the maintenance of the services essential to the life of the community, declare the services specified
in the Schedule hereto, to be essential services for the purpose of the aforesaid Section.

Given at Colombo, on the 20th April, Two Thousand and Seventeen.

SCHEDULE

All services, work or labour or any description whatsoever, necessary or required to be done in connection with
any undertaking performed or maintained by any local authority or for and on behalf of any such local authority, for the
clearance, collection, transportation, temporary storage, processing, separation, treatment, disposal and sale of street refuse,
house refuse or other similar matter.
