the youths by inspiring them a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance. It
promotes mobility within and beyond Europe, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and
encourages the employability and inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational,
social and cultural background. Our mission is to promote and bring added value to participative
education and active citizenship while developing solid partnerships with institutions, organisations
and individuals that have an activity corresponding to our values and objectives.

About the project

Our project To know or not to know how to give first aid in youth work gives the opportunity to
youth workers to raise their awareness and improve their understanding regarding the First Aid
procedures and Disaster risk reduction aiming to improve the quality of the safety and protection
project plan in Erasmus+ projects. We decided to organize this kind of training course addressed to
youth workers because we want to make them more aware on developing their own skills on
providing first aid and become more responsible about their potential of saving lives.
The goal is to improve understanding and raise awareness of the youth workers of the partner
organizations from: Italy, Slovakia, Poland, Spain, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Romania by
organizing a 9 days training course in Bile Tunad, Romania between 2030 May 2017 on how to
apply first aid procedures correctly and how to apply solutions to disaster risk reduction.

The objectives are:

To raise awareness and develop skills of the youth workers of the partner organizations from
mentioned countries on how to provide first aid correctly in the event of commonly
occurring accidents, or in life-threatening situations.
To increase the level of confidence on giving first aid of the youth workers in order to be
able to control emotions in a real situation.
To prevent damages and to control reactions in case of disaster risks (earthquakes, floods,
frost, landslides) of the youth workers.
To create a short video with the message of raising awareness on preventive education in the
context of youth work;

The project includes 32 participants coming from 8 partner countries, respective 2 experienced
trainers and 2 experts.

Results and impact:

Participants will comprehend the importance of the preventive education and they will apply first
aid measures correctly and find solutions to disaster risk reduction. They will be more prepared to
provide first aid measures in the event of commonly occurring accidents or in the life-threatening
situations. They will share and transmit knowledge, abilities and skills inside their organizations.
They will work on a better plan of safety and protection of participants during the implementation
of the activities.
Through the web platform that will be created after the project, we will be able to promote this
project among international organizations, volunteers and youth NGO members worldwide.
