It did not take long to recognize Bella's work ethic. The words | would use to describe her shortly after first impression would be dependable and organized. You could depend on her following through with assignments with attention to detail and total completeness. Right away | saw that Bella was a student leader that would be ready when called on, and ready to help other students when necessary. ‘Throughout first semester | have had the pleasure of observing Bella demonstrate her abilities in the classroom. Her attendance is excellent. Whenever she has to miss class due to an extra-curricular activity, she is proactive about getting documents ahead of time in order to stay caught up. This demonstrates a maturity in Bella that is not common in most adolescents. In US History, students are asked to show communication skills in a variety of ways. We have journalistic writing, persuasive writing, oral discussion and debate, and visual presentations toname a few. Bella has excelled in all, earning a solid Ain for the semester. In fact, she was cone of only a handful of students to earn a perfect score on our Progressive Era exam. She ‘currently holds a 4.0 GPA at Glencoe with a rigorous schedule that has included AP Human Geography, AP Chemistry and Calculus. ‘Aside from in-class achievement, Bella is involved in a variety of activities that make her a ‘well-balanced young person. She isa member of the varsity soccer team, the varsity tennis team, and the National Honors Society. She volunteers at the Elks Lodge Coat Giveaway, where they provide coats for teens who can't afford them. She also gives time to Angel Tree where she collects Christmas presents for families who don’t have money to buy gifts for their kids. Through her church, she is involved in Family Promise, providing homeless families a place to stay. At Glencoe, Bella is a peer-tutor, and provides tutoring services for students in Math and Science. Its forall of these reasons that I strongly encourage you to consider Bella Lewis for this internship opportunity so she can polish her leadership skis, become more involved in the ‘community, and help people.
