The combined function hydraulic system combines the features of one-way hydraulics and two-way
hydraulics. This combination allows single action hydraulic attachments (hydraulic hammer) and
double action hydraulic attachments (hydraulic shear) to be used interchangeably on the same
machine. The following components are the main components of the combined function hydraulic
system:

Hydraulic control

Ball valve assemblies

Pilot oil lines

Front lines

The combined function hydraulic system allows the use of one-way pressurized hydraulic flow or two
-way pressurized hydraulic flow. A ball valve is used in order to change between the two systems.
The ball valve is in the front lines group.

control lever. (5) Left implement control lever.

The combined function hydraulic system consists of the single action hydraulic attachment circuit and
the double action hydraulic attachment circuit. For more information, refer to System Operation,
"One-Way Hydraulic Flow Operation". For more information on the double action hydraulic
attachment circuit, refer to Systems Operation, "Two-Way Hydraulic Flow Operation". Operation is
selected through use of a ball valve assembly.

(6) Ball valve. (7) Relief valve. (8) Main control valve. (A) Open position. (B) Closed position.

Ball valve (6) is the component that dictates the hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit is the single
action hydraulic attachment circuit or the double action hydraulic attachment circuit.

When ball valve (6) is open, the hydraulic circuit is set up for one-way flow. When the hydraulic
circuit is set up for one-way flow, the oil pressure for the attachment is controlled by relief valve (7) .

(6) Ball valve. (9) Relief Valve. (10) Relief valve.

When ball valve (6) is closed, the hydraulic circuit is set up for two-way flow. When the hydraulic
circuit is set up for two-way flow, the oil pressure for the attachment is controlled by relief valve (9)
and relief valve (10) .
