Before embarking on its recitation,
recite the following:

-1- --
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the
worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day
of Judgment. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we

seek. Show us the straight way, The way of those on

whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose
(portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

-2-
Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self- --

subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep.

His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is

there can intercede in His presence except as He

permits? He knows what (appeared to His creatures as)

before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass
aught of His knowledge except as He willed. His Throne
doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He
feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He

is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).
-3- --
Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth,
and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who
reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-
Lord. He it is created you from clay, and then decreed a

stated term (for you). And there is in His presence
another determined term; yet ye doubt within

yourselves! And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth.

He knows what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He
knows the (recompense) which ye earn (by your deeds).

After the conclusion,
one should recite:

-1- --
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Have We not expanded thee thy breast?- And removed
from thee thy burden, which did gall thy back?- And
raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)? So,

verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: Verily, with

every difficulty there is relief. Therefore, when thou art

free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard, And

to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.
-2- --

O Allah, whelm benedictions, peace and blessings upon

our liege Muhammad, his family and companions, in the

number that is in Your Knowledge, such that those

benedictions continue forever eternal as Your Kingdom.
